Keep Up with the Latest MLB Pennant Winner Odds at Betting News

Fans of top MLB teams, such as the Dodgers, Yankees, Braves, Orioles, and Mets, will be invested in the MLB pennant races all year because of the high expectations surrounding those teams.

But whether you are a fan of an expected contender or an also-ran, pennant winner odds will give you an extra reason to keep up with MLB standings and results throughout the season.

As with other MLB futures like World Series winner odds, division winner odds, and MLB MVP odds, MLB pennant futures will fluctuate throughout the season based on performances, injuries, and trades.

For this reason, tracking line movement is important when betting on AL and NL championship winner odds. So is line shopping, because if you are a keen follower of MLB results and news, you may be able to grab a better line at one book if they have not yet made the adjustments that other books may have.

Recent MLB Pennant Winners

Since 1903, the champion of the American League has met the champion of the National League in the World Series.

Prior to 1969, there were no divisions in either the AL or NL, and the champion (a.k.a. pennant winner) in each league was decided by the regular season standings in each league, or in the event of a tie in the standings, a playoff between the tied teams.

In 1969, MLB expanded from 20 to 24 teams, with two six-teams divisions in each league. Since then, pennant winners have been decided by a playoff system.

In the current playoff system, six teams from each league make the postseason, and three rounds (the Wild Card round, the Divisional round, and the League Championship Series round) are played to determine the pennant winners/World Series matchup.
