We have one team who’s out the door and another who’s just getting started. The Dallas Wings will take on the Atlanta Dream at Gateway Center Arena. These two teams met about a month ago and the Dream squeezed out a three-point win.
Atlanta is 24-14 this season and are 3rd in the league. One game separates seeds three through five, so these games are super important. They come into this game off a loss to the Aces on Wednesday but are 7-3 in their last ten games.
Allisha Gray has been leading the way this year. She is averaging 18.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Gray has had to pick up the slack with the injury to Rhyne Howard where she missed eleven games.
One of the reasons for success on this team is depth. They have Brionna Jones, Jordin Canada and Brittney Griner in their starting five. Naz Hillmon has come off the bench this season and is averaging 8.3 points per game.

Dallas is out of the playoff picture, so they have nothing to lose

Wings guard Paige Bueckers bringing the ball up court into the offensive zone.
The Wings are 9-30 this year and already eliminated from playoff contention. They come into this game looking to break a six-game losing streak. Dallas is 1-9 in their last ten games and are 4-14 on the road.
Paige Bueckers has been putting on a Rookie of the Year performance and has a few more games to add to her bid. The kid is averaging 19 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game. Bueckers is questionable to play tonight with an unknown illness.
Dallas struggled all year on both ends of the game. They rank in the bottom of the league for points per game, field goal percentage and offensive rating. The one thing the Wings do decently is rebound the ball, ranking third best in the league.
On defense, they have the third worst defensive rating. They rank seventh in the league for both steals and turnovers. It’s going to be a tall order to slow down this Atlanta offense. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Wings vs. Dream picks.

With Paige being questionable, I really lean with the Dream here to cover the spread. This Dream team is buzzing this year and technically the best team in the East. Coming off that loss, I see a major bounce back spot for them.
Atlanta is 2-1 this season vs. the Wings. The home court will make them a bit comfier as well. It’s really going to take a full team effort for them to cover this spread. Ladies like Brionna Jones and Brittney Griner will need to have big games.
Jordin Canada is most likely not going to play for the Dream. I like for Rhyne Howard to record 5 or more assists for -120. She is coming off back-to-back game hitting the number as well as her last four out of five games. Two games back vs. the Wings, Howard put up 10 assists.
On Dallas’ side, give me Paige for 9 or more rebounds and assist for +110, if she plays. She has hit this in all three games she’s played vs. the Dream and will probably be facing double coverage most of the game. This will lead her to pass more and get under the rim as well.
