The Dallas Wings will take on the Las Vegas Aces at the Michelob ULTRA Arena tonight. This will be the first time these two teams meet this season. Las Vegas will be missing their biggest piece, as the Wings look for their second win of the season.
Las Vegas is 4-4 so far this season and fourth in the Western Conference. They come into this game on a two-game losing streak and off the injury of star player A’ja Wilson. She is doubtful for tonight with a head injury she sustained last game.
They have played better at home than the road this season with a 2-1 record. The Aces have been a little off this season after the departure of Kelsey Plum and the incoming of Jewell Loyd. Loyd has struggled all season, only averaging 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
Losing Wilson could be huge for the Wings’ chances. The Aces will be without their 20-point and 10-rebound per game player. She has such an impact every game that Dallas will need to take advantage of this.

Dallas tries to snap 6-game losing streak tonight

Wings forward DiJonai Carrington takes the ball into the offensive zone.
The Wings are in the bottom of the league with a 1-10 record. They went four games without rookie Paige Bueckers and lost all four games. Dallas comes into this one on a six-game losing streak, although they put up 80 points last game.
Bueckers returned with a bang last game, putting up 35 points, six rebounds, and four assists. She shot 13-of-19 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Although she had a good game, they lost due to poor shooting from Arike Ogunbowale and DiJonai Carrington.
The team has also been struggling on defense, with the second-worst defensive rating. Their offense isn’t powerful enough to have a weak defense, so they need to get it under control. Dallas ranks ninth in steals and eighth in turnovers, so they’re not attacking the ball or protecting it well.
This could be a good spot for them to possibly get a win with Wilson out. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Wings vs. Aces picks.

I think this is a great spot for the Wings with Wilson out. They need a win badly, and I’m not sure if they get it, but I think they can hang around. I’m taking the Wings spread and will also be sprinkling the moneyline.
Paige is coming off a monster game after missing the four previous games. The team will need a good shooting night from Arike Ogunbowale and for DiJonai Carrington to be heavily involved. If Bueckers does her thing as well, they could very well win this game.
Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray, and Jewell Loyd will be heavily relied on without Wilson. Young is averaging 18.4 points per game, and they’ll need 25 from her. Gray has been very off vs. the previous years with having very low rebound and assist averages this year. Loyd, like we mentioned, has been MIA, so she’ll need to get involved.
I like for Paige to record 29 or more PRA (points, rebounds, and assists combined) for -114. She hit this in the first half last game, and I think she comes out firing again. This kid shoots the ball great, which makes her so dangerous. Her line jumped after last game, so her past stats don’t show she covered her PRA, but she did because the line was 22-24.
