We’re back for the second game of a back-to-back in Brooklyn. The Golden State Valkyries will take on the New York Liberty again at the Barclays Center. New York just smoked Golden State by 28 points on Tuesday night.

New York is off to a 4-0 start this season and look great. They absolutely dominated the Valkyries last game as they did with the Aces and Sky. There were a lot of standout players from Tuesday night.

Breanna Stewart led the way with 24 points, followed by Marine Johannes with 18 points. Johannes had a breakthrough game for the first time this season. Natasha Cloud dished out 10 dimes and Jonquel Jones had a double-double.

To say Golden State was outmatched would be an understatement. The level of talent between the two teams is almost not even fair. We’ll see if they can make any adjustments for this game vs. the defending champs.

Golden State will try to bounce back after bad loss Tuesday

The Valkyries have such a new squad and everything new altogether. They are 2-2 this season and beat the Sparks and Mystics, two teams who are off to good starts this season. I think it’ll be a tough year for them, but it’s still early.

Golden State has seen a lot of their players get involved. They have three averaging 12 ppg. and two players averaging 10 ppg. These are good signs as the team comes together, but they will definitely need someone to step up as the leader.

Kayla Thornton leads the team in points and rebounds per game. Janelle Salaun is doing her part averaging 12 ppg. and 6 rpg. There isn’t one standout premier player on this team and it’s going to take some time to attract someone here.

It seems like a lot of points, but with the way the last game went, I’m not scared this time. Give me the Liberty to repeat Tuesday’s performance and crush the Valkyries again. This team is way too talented and Golden State lacks exactly that.

New York is obviously one of, if not the, best team in the league. Golden State still has a long way to go to grow that team and franchise. They have been able to get two wins so far, but they can’t keep up here.

I like for Breanna Stewart to get 19 or more points for +100. With the way she played last game and drained 24, I think we see this again. If she’s scoring, you know Natsha Cloud will be passing her the ball. I’ll be taking Cloud for 8 or more assists for +104.

The last prop I like is Jonquel Jones to get 10 or more rebounds for +100. All of these are great value and just happened. More of the same is to come this game and I think Cloud and Jones focus on their respective stat category over scoring.
