We have two teams whose seasons are over, but we may get a decent game. The Connecticut Sun will face the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena. These two teams last played about ten days ago and the Sun won by ten points.
Connecticut is 10-30 this season and are currently the third worst team in the league. They come into this game on a two-game losing streak. The Sun are 5-5 in their last ten games and 4-16 on the road this year.
The best player on this team this year is veteran Tina Charles. Marina Mabrey is also a main contributor on the team as well, but otherwise the team is not deep. They do have two rookies who have potential if they get more players and that’s Aneesha Morrow and Saniya Rivers.
Just as bad as their offense is, their defense is just as bad. They rank in the bottom of the league for defensive rating and rebounding. Connecticut ranks 9th in turnovers per game and the only thing they do good on defense is steal the ball.

Chicago done for the year, but Reese will keep on playing

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese returns the ball up court against the Connecticut Sun.
The Sky are 9-30 this year and are currently the second to worst team in the league. They come into this game on a four-game losing streak they’ll be looking to snap. Chicago is 1-9 in their last ten games and 5-15 at home this season.
Angel Reese has and is still the focal point of this team on offense and defense. Reese really got her shooting under control this season. She is averaging 14.6 points on 46.3% shooting and 12.6 rebounds per game this year. Reese is the league leader in rebounds per game.
This team struggles all around. Their best two players are in their sophomore seasons and really have no help around them. Kamilla Cardoso and Reese can only do so much. The Sky better be careful and get them help or fear losing them.
I know neither team has anything to really play for, but I think they do play, and we get a decent game. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Sun vs. Sky picks.

Give me the Sky at home. I know the stats don’t line up the best, but I think Reese and co. take this one. We should get a good matchup down low as well with Charles and either Reese or Cardoso.
I think the under is a good look in this game. Neither team has great offense nor defense, so I lean more to the under. The game could keep going back and forth, miss after miss a few times to kill that clock. I also don’t see either team blowing the other out.
Give me Tina Charles for 15 or more points for -122. Charles is currently hitting at a 70% rate over her last twenty games and is coming off a 22-point game. She also has great history vs. the Sky, hitting her points line in her last four games straight.
The other play I like is Marina Mabrey to get 4 or more assists for -125. Being the starting point guard, she is expected to facilitate the ball. Mabrey has great history vs. the Sky, hitting in her last four games. She has missed her last three games and is due for a bounce back.
