The Sparks are 20-22 this year and sitting one and a half games out of the last playoff spot. They come into this game off a win over the Wings on Sunday. Los Angeles dropped their prior two games to the Dream where they really needed one.
They’re 5-5 in their last ten games and also 11-10 on the road this season. At one point, they were a strong road team, but in recent weeks their play at home or away has been rather the same. This game is huge for the Sparks, and their opponent isn’t going to be a roll over.
Even the top seeds of the playoffs are extremely close, so the Mercury will not want to let this one slip away. Kelsey Plum will need to rally the troops and play some defense. Their offense is high powered, but they really lack on defense.
Los Angeles has the better offense. They score more points, they have the best pace in the league, and second-best shoot percentage. But on defense, they rank in the bottom of the league for rebounds and defensive rating. LA needs to play smart ball as well and not turn the ball over as much.

Well, for one thing, we should get a good game. The last time these two played it wasn’t a blowout, and I think we see another close game. Los Angeles has shown too much heart and fight to let this one get away from them.
Their offense will need to really shine to win this game. They have to shoot the ball extremely well and protect it on defense. These are the things to win, but we want them to just cover. The 7.5 points should be more than doable for the Sparks.
Give me Alyssa Thomas for 10 or more rebounds for -118. Thomas has put on an MVP worthy season and will be all over the place in this game. She missed her last game but hit in the previous one. She had 16 rebounds in the last game vs. the Sparks and hit in her last four out of five vs. them.
I have to go with Dearica Hamby points. Her line will probably come out around 17-18 points for -120 and that line is right where it needs to be. She had 25 vs. the Mercury last game and has cleared the line in four of her last five, just coming off a miss.
