We have a team fighting for their playoff rights and another who is already heading to vacation. The Seattle Storm will continue their playoff hunt vs. the Chicago Sky tonight. These two teams met ten days ago, and the Storm pulled out a six-point win.
The Storm are 21-19 this season and seventh in the league. They come into this game off a big win over the Lynx in Minnesota on Thursday. Seattle is 5-5 in their last ten games and 8-10 at home this year.
This team willed there way to victory the other night with a comeback. Diggins had 23 points and 5 assists. Gabby Williams had 16 points while Nneka Ogwumike had 12 points and 9 rebounds. The Storm bench did their part with Dominque Malonga having 13 points and 7 rebounds as well as Erica Wheeler dropping 13 points.
Their defense is what will continue to win them games. Ranking third in defensive rating, this Seattle team will clamp you down if allowed to. They also lead the league in steals and are second best in the league for turnovers. The Storm need to rebound better and their defense will really be dangerous.

Chicago will look to cause trouble for Seattle’s playoff picture

Sky forward Angel Reese lines up to take a free throw shot.
The Sky are 2-29 this year and have already been eliminated from the playoffs. They come into this game off a loss to the Mercury in a close game. Chicago is 2-8 in their last ten games and 4-14 on the road.
Angel Reese has had a fantastic year and shown so much growth. She is averaging 14.4 points and 12.6 rebounds per game, which leads the team in both as well as leading the league in rebounds. Reese improved her shooting percentage to 45.8% this year.
Kamilla Cardoso is another player who had a great year. She is averaging 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, which says something about this team when you have two bigs performing. Both players are in their second year with the team after being drafted in the top ten of last year’s draft.
Both of these players are going to need some serious help if Chicago intends on keeping them. They cannot do it all and Ariel Atkins in the back court is not the answer. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Sky vs. Storm picks.

Another big spread…sigh. Well, in this case, we’re taking the underdog. Although they have been eliminated, the Sky haven’t played terrible in their last three games, covering 12 points in all.
Seattle should absolutely win this game, but there obviously is no value on the moneyline. Usually after a decent win, a team can take a little bit of a back step, and I think we see that with the lead of this game. The Storm aren’t the greatest home team either, so I expect a close match up.
I think Angel Reese clears her points line and gets 14 or more for -122. She just cleared it in her last game after missing two straight. Reese has also cleared the line in her last three vs. the Storm, one being just ten days ago.
The other play I’m rolling with is Nneka Ogwumike to record 2 or more three pointers for even money. She’s hit nicely in her last three games straight and also in the last game vs. the Sky. The volume has been a little back and forth, but she shot five vs. the Sky, so I see her shooting again.
