We head to the home of the best team in the league tonight. The Chicago Sky will take on the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center. These two teams have not played each other this year, so let’s see what they have in store for us.
Minnesota is 16-2 this season and leading the whole league. They come into this game off a win last night over the Valkyries which makes four in a row. The Lynx are 8-2 in their last ten games and are a perfect 10-0 at home to start the season.
MVP front runner Napheesa Collier is coming off a 22-point, 6 rebound game last night. She is averaging 25 points and 8 rebounds per game this season, where she leads the league in points per game. Collier has battled a bad disc this season, but if she can stay healthy, has a strong chance of being this year’s MVP.
The cast in Minnesota is deep and that’s what makes them so good. If Collier is out, the team can still rely on the likes of Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride and Allana Smith. All three ladies are averaging double digits in points per game while exceling at their strong suits. Williams has been dishing the ball, Smith cleaning the glass and McBride hitting threes.
Chicago tries to carry momentum of win into tonight

Sky forward Angel Reese tries to call for the ball while guarded by Lynx forward Napheesa Collier.
The Sky are 5-11 this season and 5th in the Eastern Conference. They come into this game off a win over the Sparks on Sunday. Chicago is 3-7 in their last 10 games and also 3-7 on this road this season. Going to be interesting to see if we get a refreshed team or a rusty team after a week off.
This team continues to be led by second year player Angel Reese. She’s averaging a double double so far with 12 points and almost 13 rebounds per game. In her last four games, Reese has really turned the offense on, breaking the ten-point mark in all four games. Her “mebounds” saying has become useless as she has grabbed 75% of her rebounds on defense due to her improved offense.
Ariel Atkins and Kamilla Cardoso are two role players for this team. Atkins is averaging 14 points per game while Cardoso is averaging 12 points and 6 rebounds per game. The numbers aren’t bad, but they’re not enough to equal wins, as we’re seeing.
Unfortunately for the Sky, they have their work cut out for them against a very deep team. I don’t know how well they’ll be able to keep up as Reese can’t do it all. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Sky vs. Lynx picks.

Minnesota may be playing a back-to-back today, but I don’t think that matters. Collier is going to be too much for Reese to handle and there’s no one else on the Sky that poses a threat to the Lynx. Going with another favorite here and not scared of all those points.
Collier has been ballin’ since back from being out with the back injury. Her line set at 21.5 for -125 is a great play here as she’s hit the line in 4 of her last 5 games. She has also cleared the line in her last 3 out of 4 home games. Again, I think she’s going to be too much for Reese to handle on both ends of the floor.
The rest of the support the Lynx have for Collier is what will be the X factor. If she is locked up for some reason by Reese or caught in a double team, she has so many reliable options to move the ball to. The Lynx are first in the league for assists per game.
I have to go with Angel Reese to grab 14 or more rebounds for -106. The numbers really don’t lie. She has broken the line in her last 4 games by plenty and also has a good history vs the Lynx, grabbing 19 and 16 in her 2 games vs. them last season.
