The leagues favorite rivalry of last year kicks off this year! The Chicago Sky will take on the Indiana Fever at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It’s going to be even better this year as Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are entering their sophomore seasons.
Indiana finished 3rd in the East last season and 6th overall. They made the playoffs for the 1st time since 2016. Drafting Caitlin Clark #1 changed this team completely. This past offseason they were extremely busy and got Clark some new teammates.
Alyiah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell return alongside of Clark. New additions DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard and Sophie Cunningham show they want a championship and soon. They’re going all in this year as they have brough in 2 past WNBA Champions in Bonner and Howard.
It’s going to be really exciting to watch this team. Normally I’d say how they settle in together, but a player like Clark just makes everyone around her better. It’s going to be incredibly tough for teams to keep up with this offense this year.
Chicago will look to build off last year’s season with some new faces

Sky forward Angel Reese works down low to get the ball to the basket while defended by the Fever.
The Sky had an okay year last season and has a lot to improve on. Angel Reese obviously stole the show for this team last year. They wanted to be known a s a tough team and seemed to always be making a splash, good and bad.
Reese will look to keep dominating under the glass. If she shoots better this year, look for her rebound volume to go down as a lot of her points come off of offensive rebounds. She played well in the Unrivaled league during the offseason and her team won the championship.
Chicago added Ariel Atkins from the Mystics in the offseason. Atkins brings leadership and also good ball handling. The team also drafted Hailey Van Lith out of TCU this year and she should have a nice impact on this team. Also, don’t forget about Kamilla Cardoso who was the 3rd pick overall last season.
I don’t know how far they go this season after finishing 10th last season. The evolving of Angel Reese will be interesting to see as well as how these new pieces fit together. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

I’m personally stoked to see how this Fever offense plays. They have all the firepower to honestly just destroy teams. Indiana will need to tighten up their defense from last year, so they play a complete game.
DeWanna Bonner should finally get all the time in the world to shoot. She is coming from a team where she was one of, if not the, main focal point of the offense. Now, there are so many pieces from Clark to Boston to Mitchell to Howard that, as long as they move the ball well, can do some damage.
The first player prop I like is Kamilla Cardoso to record over 10.5 points for -130. She will be down low with Reese crowding the paint and I expect her to get plenty of put backs. Cardoso quietly had a decent year and I think we see more from her this season.
It’s hard to choose a prop for Clark. She’s going to be all over the floor, but her lines are set a little high for the 1st game of the season. The 1 prop I like is for her to record 4 or more 3-pointers for -118. She hit it in 1 of her preseason games and had 3 in another but had 6 and 8 attempts in those 2 games, so the volume is there.
