Before we get into any of the predictions of picks, let’s recap. The Minnesota Lynx have had the top spot locked up for weeks while the Aces went on a historical 16-game winning streak to end the season. Phoenix showed they’re here to make noise and the Liberty slipped a bit.
Seattle sealed their own fate by winning their last game to clinch a playoff spot. The Golden State Valkyries, the leagues newest team, had themselves a year and locked up a playoff spot, but slipped to eighth and Indiana still managed a playoff spot without Caitlin Clark for almost half the season.
Now let’s take a look at the odds and get into the WNBA Playoff Preview.

As expected, the Lynx have the best odds to win it all. Las Vegas is next and coming in scorching hot on their winning streak. Some ones to keep an eye on are Atlanta at 8:1 and Phoenix at 20:1. If Caitlin Clark ends up playing, you never know what the Fever could do.

The Aces are on a historical run coming into the playoffs on a 16-game winning streak. This team struggled hard at the beginning of the year and really kicked it into gear the second half of the year. There are two players that are a big reason for that.
A’ja Wilson has gone on an absolute tear, leading this team. She finished the year with a scoring title and second in rebounding. This is her second year averaging a double double on the year, the first time ever done in history.
Another player who stepped up and found themselves towards the end of the season is Jewell Loyd. She had a hard time finding herself when the season first started. She was a starter and 20+ ppg player when she was with Seattle and once she started coming off the bench, things came together for her.
Center Nalyssa Smith is another player who has been great. She came over mid-season from the Wings and has fit right in. I think with the depth and experience that this team has – everyone better watch out. They have personally emerged as my favorite to win it all.

Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard waits for play to resume after a stoppage.

This team I have fought with all season, but I’m finally here to say I’m done doubting them and they’re the real deal. Atlanta finished as the top team in the East and has had some great basketball out of their players.
Allisha Gray put on a fantastic performance this year and got a lot of attention. She averaged 18.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this year in 42 games. Gray had to step up at one point when fellow guard Rhyne Howard went out with an injury.
Howard, a former number one pick, missed eleven games this season. She still managed to average 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds and assists per game. Rhyne got hot towards the end of the season when the Dream needed to win. She has had double digit point totals in her last seven games.
This team is complete with other players like Brionna Jones and Jordin Canada. I’ll definitely have my eye on them as I think they can take out the Fever but will most likely get the Aces next and that will be a tough match, but a great series. We could see out champ come out of that series.
