We head to Indiana for a showdown at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and we got you covered. The Washington Mystics will take on the Fever tonight for the second time this season. Washington pulled out the win last week, but the Fever were without Caitlin Clark.
Indiana is 2-4 this season and are missing their star. Clark has been out with a quad strain and the team has lost both games without her. The Fever contended in both, losing by two points and six points respectively, but the absence of Clark is felt.
Players like Natasha Howard, Lexie Hull, and DeWanna Bonner have stepped up. Bonner had been nowhere to be found so far this season and had limited playing time, so it’s good to see her back out there. She could, and should, be a huge part of this team.
The Fever were behind at halftime last game. They then came out and had a terrible third quarter, only putting up 13 points. If they can keep it close going into half and come out better, they should have a chance of winning this game.

Washington will look to get to .500 after very decent start

Mystics guard Brittney Sykes takes the ball in for an easy layup in front of the Fever’s Natasha Howard.
Washington is off to a 3-4 start this season. They look really good thanks to the likes of Brittney Sykes and their first-round draft picks Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. Citron has had double digit point totals in all her games this season and Iriafen has recorded a double-double in four games.
With the impact the new rookies are having, it’s allowing Sykes to really flourish. She’s averaging 21.7 ppg. as well as 4.5 apg. and 4.7 rpg. She has come in as the top dog and leader of this team. Whatever they’re doing, they’re doing it right because no one expected them to have three wins already.
Playing so recently I think will help Washington make adjustments to win this game again. Both teams I’m sure will do the same thing, but Indiana will be missing that edge with Clark and I cannot stress that enough.
If Washington can get the lead, it’ll keep them third in the East and another game in front of the Fever. These two weeks can’t end soon enough for Indiana, but anyways, let’s check out the odds and get into the Mystics vs. Fever picks.

This should be another good game. I think we see a hard fought, close game once again. But I can’t back the Fever until they prove they can win without Clark. They have played somewhat messy games that if they had their best player, they most likely would’ve won.
The Mystics are 1-3 on the road, but the Fever are the same at home. It’s going to be a tough task to slow down Washington and if Clark was playing, they’d speed the game up on the Mystics. I think since we see a close game that the Mystics can cover with the 4.5 points.
Indiana’s going to need another big game from DeWanna Bonner. She had 21 points and 4 rebounds last game. If she can put up 15 points, she’ll have done her job. I like her for two 3-pointers made if you can find lines for her. She wasn’t listed last game, but I think she will be this time.
I also like for Brittney Sykes to get 21 or more points for -104. She hit this last time and four times this season. She had a fifth game where she also had 20 if you want to take that and kill the half-point hook.
