The Mercury are not a strong defensive team, and it hurts them. They rank 9th in defensive rating, 11th in steals, 10th in rebounds and 8th in turnovers. Phoenix will need to tighten up their game going into the playoffs.

The have been nowhere to be found since returning from the Olympics break. They went from sitting somewhere around the 6th seed to possibly not making the playoffs.
Losing Angel Reese of course hurts, but they were having trouble before she got injured. Chennedy Carter also missed some time which hurt the team as she is their leading scorer.
The Sky are 13-24 on the year and currently on a 2-game losing streak. They’re 2-8 in their last 10 games and are only 6-13 are home this season. This Mercury team will most definitely be a test for them as they are a playoff team.
