And we meet again with these two teams! The Phoenix Mercury will take on the Atlanta Dream at the Gateway Center Arena. These two teams just faced off nin days ago and the Mercury won the game by 11 points.
Atlanta has a 16-11 record and the 2nd best team in the Eastern Conference. They come into this game off a three-point win over the Wings on Wednesday. The Dream are 5-5 in their last ten games and 8-4 at home this season.
Allisha Gray has been leading the way for this team. She’s averaging 18 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. The team has been without guard Rhyne Howard since July 11th and Gray has emerged as the leader.
This could be a good spot for Brittney Griner playing her former team. Last game she has 17 points and 8 rebounds, so definitely someone to keep an eye on when making your picks for this game. Her 19 or more points and rebounds combined for -120 may be a solid look.

Phoenix will look to get back in the win column after bad loss to Indy

Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas takes the ball in the offensive zone looking to make a play.
The Mercury are 16-10 this season and are 2nd in the Western Conference. They come into this game off a loss to the Fever on Wednesday night. Phoenix is 4-6 in their last ten games and are 7-6 on the road this season.
Their loss the other night was tough. Phoenix was winning that game and let the Fever come back and steal it. It probably was a game they should’ve won on this road trip, especially without Caitlin Clark in the lineup.
Alyssa Thomas is playing out of her mind. She is coming off a career high 32 points last game. To go along with it, she grabbed 15 rebounds and had 7 assists. She’s averaging 26.3 points, 13 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game in her last three games.
This has the makings of a good game between both number two seeds. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Mercury vs. Dream picks.

This should be a good bounce back for the Mercury after that loss to the Fever. I know the Dream are a good team, but I think the Mercury are a better team. The Mercury control the pace of the game and rank second best in the league for pace.
These two match up pretty much the same on paper. Phoenix doesn’t rebound the ball well and that could catch them. Sabally will need to be on her game as well as Alyssa Thomas as they’ll be up against Brittney Griner and Brionna Jones.
It should be a close game. I like for Alyssa Thomas to get 8 or more rebounds for -148. I know it’s juiced up, but what’s not broke don’t fix. This play is on rinse and repeat right now and we’re running it again.
Another play that has been printing is Kahleah Copper for 2 or more three pointers for even money. She’s coming of a game where she went two for two from three and she has also hit in eight of her last nine games.
