We’re back and the WNBA only got better! We head to Dallas for the Minnesota Lynx vs the Wings at College Park Center. It’s opening night so vibes will be extremely high for both teams. Let’s talk about both teams and then provide Lynx vs Wings picks.
Minnesota is just coming off an amazing year. They finished 2nd overall in the league and made it to their first Finals appearance in seven years. The Lynx couldn’t get the job done and lost to the New York Liberty, who captured their first ever title.
Napheesa Collier is coming off a career year. She averaged 20.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. Collier also had 1.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. If it wasn’t for the year A’ja Wilson had, Napheesa could’ve been MVP.
The team has a solid roster for this year. Minnesota will return Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride, and Natisha Hiedeman. Players like Bridget Carleton and new addition Karlie Samuelson will play big roles as well. It was announced today that McBride will miss this game, so watch for Carleton to shoot more.

New look Wings try to improve off disappointing year last season

Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers hopes to come in and turn this team around.
It’s always great to have the No. 1 pick in the draft, but that usually means you weren’t very good the year before. That holds true here (lol). Dallas took highly anticipated star Paige Bueckers out of UConn. She is fresh off winning a National Title and ready to go.
Bueckers will look to settle in with the likes of Arike Ogunbowale and Teaira McCowan. Dallas was busy this offseason and not just the draft. They parted ways with Natasha Howard as well as Satou Sabally. But don’t fret, they brought in NaLyssa Smith from Indiana and DiJonai Carrington from Connecticut.
Both Smith and Carrington are going to have a significant impact on this team. Bueckers along with this cast will be very interesting to watch. They split their two preseason games, but the game they won, they put up 119 points.
They will be tested in the first game of the season with the Lynx. I think they’re going to be a fun team to watch this year, and I also think we see improvement from last year’s disappointment. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

We’re going with the team that’s proven themselves. I’m excited to see how far this Lynx team goes this year as they’ll go up against the likes of the Aces and Liberty again. I think this is a perfect first game for them to get started.
The spread is almost in their favor when you think about it. You have one team who has everything to figure out and another that is returning almost the same team as last year. Give me the Lynx to cover the six points and to do it comfortably.
I want to take it slow with player props on the first game of the season. We will target a few Lynx props and especially with McBride out. In her absence, Collier will definitely shoot the basketball more. Her points line is 22.5 for -122 and I think she clears this easily. If you want plus money, her 25+ points is +138.
Also, with McBride out, I like for Bridget Carleton to get three or more 3-point baskets for +116. This will most likely move out of the plus money within the first few games of the year with the way she shoots, so we’ll take advantage of the plus money.
