We have another great matchup on our hands. The Minnesota Lynx will take on the Golden State Valkyries at the Chase Center. These two teams met two months ago, and the Lynx won by nine points.
Golden State is 23-18 in their first season and headed to the playoffs. They’re coming into this game on a nice five game winning streak. The Valkyries are 7-3 in their last ten games and 14-7 at home this year.
The Valkyries have been extremely fun to watch. Their home crowd is crazy and sells out which is a testament to their home record. They have a band of misfits in all honesty because the only player that emerged as the leader is out for the season.
Kayla Thronton was leading this team in the beginning of the season, and they looked great. This team has shown a lot of heart since her injury and players like Janelle Salaun and Veronica Burton have stepped up. The team has four different players averaging 11 to 12 points per game.

Minnesota looks to get back in the win column after loss Thursday

Lynx forward Napheesa Collier and guard Kayla McBride high five after scoring a basket.
The Lynx are 32-9 this season and clinched the first spot in the league. They come into this game off a loss to the Aces on Thursday. Minnesota is 6-4 in their last ten games and are 13-7 on the road.
Losing to the Aces the other night was a little bit of a statement game from Las Vegas. The Lynx just couldn’t get it done against the red-hot Aces and could show something for the playoffs. A’ja Wilson had 31 points and took over as the league’s leading scorer over Collier.
Now, do I think the Lynx are slumping right now? Eh. It’s definitely not how you want to look going into the last games of the season and the playoffs. They really need to kick it in gear these last three games to gain some momentum.
This will be another test for the Lynx from this pesky Valkyries team. Like I said, Minnesota really needs a win here and they’re going up against another team who is red-hot. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Lynx vs. Valkyries picks.

I really think we see a close game here. With the spread being six points, the Valkyries were only four points off in the last game vs. the Lynx from covering. I think this is a very doable spread for Golden State to cover.
Minnesota looks a little off to an extent. Back on the road again vs. a good home team on one day’s rest poses a little bit of a threat. Golden State really needs to a win too to possibly get into the fifth seed. As long the Valkyries can play the way they have been, this has a very good chance of covering.
For an even money play, we’re taking Courtney Williams for 15 or more points. She has had 14 or more in her last five straight games, so all the volume is there. Williams has also hit the line in her two games vs the Valkyries this year.
The other play I like is Janelle Salaun to hit 2 or more three points for -137. Salaun has hit this in her last four straight games and has been attempting a little over 5 threes per game over those last four games. I think the current momentum continues for her and we cash this easily.
