We’re back for game two of the Minnesota Lynx vs. the Golden State Valkyries. The Lynx took it to the Valkyries is game one and beat them by 29 points. Golden State will be sold out and the building is going to be rocking, so let’s see how it goes.
Golden State was 23-21 this season and landed in the eighth playoff spot. For their first year in the league, they have been absolutely electric and great to see them in the playoffs. I already mentioned they’re comfy at home and they went 14-8 this season. They’re going to need all the help they can get.
The 2025 Most Improved Player Veronica Burton will need to lead this team. She has 14 points, 5 boards and 7 assists which was a great stat line. Janelle Salaun, Cecilia Zandalasini, and Temi Fagbenle all finished with 12 or more points.
What’s kept this team alive this that all players contribute. They have sneaky depth and can grind out wins. This is the toughest team in the league being a team so hungry to win a chip, especially after almost getting it last year.

Minnesota will look to repeat game one and move to the next round

Lynx forward Napheesa Collier takes the ball up court with Valkyries center Temi Fagbenle right behind her.
The Lynx were 34-10 this year and the best team in the league. They handled the Valkyries with no problem in game one and will look to do the same. Minnesota was 14-8 on the road this team, so they’ll pose another tough task for Golden State.
Napheesa Collier had a solid game in game one. Her 20 points and 6 rebounds led the way for the Lynx. Natisha Hiedeman went off for 18 points off the bench and Kayla McBride added 17 points. They were on firing from all around and shot 52% from the field.
All they need to do is not let this home crowd get to them and play the same game as last. Minnesota is a much better team than Golden State although kudos to them for a hell of a first year.
This team has their eye on the chip after making it to the finals last year but coming up short. They’ve played well all season and now’s the time to pull out all the stops and put your foot on the gas. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Lynx vs. Valkyries picks.

I think this one is pretty clear. The Lynx should come in here and repeat the other night. They are so driven and dialed in right now that these guys are getting one passed them. As long as the bench contributes for Minnesota, this is a rap.
It could be foolish thinking they can cover this spread again, but they only adjusted the line by 2.5 points from last game. So only giving home court a 2.5-point difference tells me they think the Lynx win and still by a lot.
The first play I really like is Natisha Hiedeman for 10 or more points at +100. She is coming off a 18-point game and has had at least 18 points in five or her last six games. Hiedeman has found a groove and I expect the team to look to her again in game two.
I’m also taking Veronica Burton to get 14 or more points for -118. She just hit this last game and has in her last four out of five games. Burton also hit the number in her last two out of three games vs Minnesota. The Valkyries need her to have a big game to win this game as well.
