WNBA is back and we are so here for it! The 2nd half of the season is going to be so good, and we get it kicked off tonight. Tonight, we start with the New York Liberty taking on the Los Angeles Sparks.
New York is 21-4 and 1st in the Eastern Conference. These ladies have been absolutely dominating. They will be looking to make their way to back-to-back finals appearances.
The Liberty have a powerhouse offense that is 2nd in the league in scoring, assists and field goal percentage. They are also best in the league shooting from 3-point range and offensive rating. On defense, they rank 4th in defensive rating and 5th in rebounding.
Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu return back to the team as Gold Medal winners. Congratulations to them and the entire women’s team for bringing home the gold for the 8th straight time!
Los Angeles comes into this game well rested, but can they steal a win?

Los Angeles has had a rough start to the season. They have a 6-18 record, sitting 5th in the Western Conference. LA lost their rookie star Cameron Brink to a torn ACL injury earlier in the year, which was definitely a blow to the teams moral.
Newly acquired Dearica Hamby has taken the lead for this team. She leads the team with 19.2 points and 10 rebounds per game. She came over from the Aces last season where we just learned that she had a bad falling out.
Going into the break, the Sparks were 2-8 in their last 10 games. They also only have a 4-8 at home, which doesn’t help. Los Angeles has had anything to really spark this team (no pun intended) and playing the Liberty is going to be a tough task after this break.

There is only one thing on the mind of the Liberty and that is winning it all. Games like these are lay ups for them to stay fresh and add one to the win column. I think they do just that tonight.
The Liberty are a good road team with a 9-3 record so far this year. Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones will be dominating down low per usual. Sabrina Ionescu and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton will move the ball around at the top of the key.
As long as the Liberty play their game, this shouldn’t be a problem. The points may seem like a lot, but I think they cover it without a problem. I also like the over in this game. The total is low compared to their last matchup and I think it’s because it’s the first game back.
