WNBA Finals Lynx vs Liberty Picks and Odds, October 13, 2024

What a game 1 we got, and I don’t think anyone saw it coming. From the blown lead by the Liberty to the missed free throw by Stewart. This game looked like it was all New York’s until the end.

Lynx guard Courtney Williams hit what was thought to be the game winning shot at the end of the 4th quarter. Minnesota then committed a foul that sent Breanna Stewart to the foul line. Stewart, a WNBA legend, missed 1 of the 2 free throws and they went to OT.

It was an insane game to say the least. Minnesota has big performances from Courtney Williams with 23 points and Kayla McBride had 22 points with 4 3-pointers made. On the Liberty side, Jonquel Jones had a 24/10 double-double and rookie Leonie Fiebich hit 5 3’s.

Now we get ready for Game 2. Can the Liberty get the job done this game? Going into Minnesota down 2-0 in a 5-game series is more than scary to think about. Let’s get into Game 2 more.

New York was in control the entire 1st half of the game. They will need to play better defense today to not allow Minnesota to creep back in the game. Making necessary free throws is another key, cough-cough Breanna Stewart…

One thing they’ll need to do is shoot better. Stewart shot 6/21 and Ionescu shot 8/25. That’s a combined 28.5% from the field and will not cut it from your 2 best players. They both need to take better and smarter shots.

It’s going to be another great game and I’m looking forward to it. This is a must win game for the Liberty. It’ll be more than a disappointment if they got passed the Aces to make back-to-back finals and lose again.

We’re going with the same play as last game and we’re getting another point and half. After what we saw, it is exactly what I thought these games would be. A close, hard-fought game to the end and today shouldn’t be any different.

I kind of like the over as well. It was only moved up by 3.5 points and they cleared this number in regulation of last game. The Lynx shot better than the Liberty, shooting 51% vs New York’s 38%. The Liberty out rebounded the Lynx by 14, but the Lynx had more points in the paint by 6 points.

I like for Jonquel Jones to record 10+ rebounds at -104. The Lynx had no answer for her last game and her double double at +120 is also a great look. Another great look is Sabrina Ionescu for 3+ 3-pointers made for -136. Ionescu went 3/9 from 3 last game and is a known 3-point shooter, so this is great value.
