We have a good matchup on our hands with two teams off to decent starts. The Indiana Fever will head to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Mystics. There will be a huge piece missing for the Fever and the Mystics will look to take advantage.
The Fever are 2-2 to start the season, but will be without star Caitlin Clark. She will miss the next two weeks with a left quad strain. It shouldn’t be anything too serious and she’ll be back soon enough, but it does put pressure on the team.
Guard Kelsey Mitchell will need to step up facilitating the ball. Aliyah Boston is going to need to make her shots and grab some extra boards as well. This is a prime spot for newcomer and veteran DeWanna Bonner to finally have herself a game.
There will obviously be a void to fill, so Mitchell will really need to run the floor. Natasha Howard has come alive the past few games, so we’ll look for her to also make up for points and rebounds. It’s going to be a true test of this team without their leader.

Mystics will look to get their 3rd win of the season at home

Washington’s Brittney Sykes and Aaliyah Edwards high five after an and 1 call.
The Mystics are off to a 2-3 start, but look very good. They won their first two games vs. the Dream and the Sun, but have lost their last three to the Valkyries, Aces, and Mercury. All three loses were by six points or less, so they were very much in each game.
Guard Brittney Sykes has started off hot. She’s averaging 22.3 points and 5 assists per game so far. She missed one game with a leg injury, but hasn’t missed a step. Sykes has a new cast around, including two rookies from this year’s draft.
Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen were taken in the first round of this year’s draft back-to-back with the No. 3 and No. 4 picks. These two ladies are really showing out to start the season and give this team a lot of hope for the future.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the Fever adjust with no Caitlin Clark. I think the Mystics will be a good test for them. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Fever vs. Mystics picks.

I think without Clark playing, we see a close game here. There should be a lot of offense from both teams in a back-and-forth game. I like for it to stay close enough that the Mystics cover the three points.
Brittney Sykes has been great this year to start, with a 30-point performance already. I think we see another big game out of her with not having Clark on her tail. And of course, we can’t forget about the red-hot rookies.
Guard Sonia Citron and forward Kiki Iriafen have been absolutely fantastic to start this season. Expect for both of them to have great games vs. the Fever and that leads us right into the props that I like for this game.
I like Citron to get 14 or more points for -113. I don’t get why they’re giving us this value when she’s hit this in her last two games and four out of the five she’s played this year. She will be moving the ball with Sykes in what should be a loose back court with no Clark.
The other play I like is for Kelsey Mitchell to get 19 or more points for -110. Another line I don’t get the price for, but we’re not going to turn it down. She is going to be the main point of this offense, and she will be shooting a lot in Clark’s absence.
