What an electric matchup to start round two. The Indiana Fever will take on the Las Vegas Aces at the Michelob ULTRA Arena today. Both teams made it out of the first round with a 2-1 series win over their opponents.
Let’s start with Indiana, the team who most would’ve thought wouldn’t be here. The Fever were able to take care of business and send the Dream packing on Thursday night in a 87-85 thriller. I had been saying Atlanta were frauds all year and it finally showed.
Without Caitlin Clark, this team was counted out from the beginning. Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah have taken over leading this team. Mitchell had 24 points, and Boston had 14 points and 12 rebounds in their game three win.
This team won the commissioner’s cup and now a playoff series without Clark. It’s time for teams to start taking them seriously because they can hang, but now they face an even bigger test…the red-hot Aces.

Vegas looks to keep rolling with their eyes on the Finals

Aces center A’ja Wilson drives to the net defended by Fever center Aliyah Boston.
The Aces are coming in hot man. They’re 18-1 in their last 19 games coming into this series after eliminating the Seattle Storm. Las Vegas should also be riding high today as center A’ja Wilson was named league MVP for the fourth time in her career.
Wilson averaged 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in 40 games. She won her second ever scoring title as well this year, leading all in points per game. A’ja put this team on her back and took them from seventh to second in the league with a sixteen-game winning streak to end the season.
The role players on this team have supported her all year, especially Jackie Young. She is the Aces’ next biggest threat to teams in my opinion. She averaged 16.5 points, 5.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game while starting every game this season.
This most likely won’t be a cake walk for the Aces. Indy may not have Clark on the floor, but she’s been doing plenty of coaching from the bench. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Fever vs. Aces picks.

Give me the Aces at home to cover the spread. I think with all the momentum they have from last series to the win streak to the MVP winner. Playing at home this season, the Aces were 17-5 and won both of their playoff home games as well.
The other fuel we should see from the Aces is that they lost the season series 1-2, with one terrible loss in there. We saw what they did to the Lynx once they played again after losing by 50 points. I think we see some revenge factor in there as well.
A’ja has been playing unreal and is going to be a handful for Boston and Natasha Howard. Jackie Young has been working the perimeter with ease. She was quiet in game 3 vs. the Storm, so I think we see her back to form.
I like for Young to hit her points line of 15.5 for -118. She has hit in her last three out of four games and is due for that bounce back. I also like Aliyah Boston to get 14 or more points for -125 as she hit vs. the Aces in both wins this season. She also had two double doubles vs. them, so a +155 may be worth the sprinkle.
