We have the top-two teams in the East battling it out tonight. The Atlanta Dream will take on the New York Liberty for the first time since they met in the playoffs last year. Atlanta will look to keep riding their momentum into the Barclay’s Center.
The Dream are 8-3 this season and second in the East. They come into this game on a three-game winning streak off a big win over the Mystics by 33 points on Sunday. This team keeps finding ways to win despite the lopsided performances they’re getting from their players.
Allisha Gray put up 32 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including 6-of-9 from three-point range. Unfortunately, the rest of their starters heavily underperformed and this seems to be the case for this team. One player will go off and carry the rest of the team, but from a betting standpoint, you don’t know who it’s going to be.
All three of the wins the Dream have during this streak have been dominate wins, winning by double digits in each game. Tonight will prove to see how good this team is, as they face the defending champs and the best team in the league.

Liberty look to bounce back after 1st loss of the season Saturday

New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu cuts to the basket defended by Dream players.
The Liberty are 9-1 this season and just suffered their first loss this weekend vs. the Fever. They have been fantastic to start the season with wins over the Aces, Fever, and Valkyries. You can tell this team is picking right up where they left off last year.
Sabrina Ionescu is off to a hot start, averaging 19.5 points and 5.1 assists per game, as well as Breanna Stewart averaging 19.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. These two are the heart and soul of this team and have been stepping up with Jonquel Jones’ injury and being without Betnijah Laney-Hamilton since the start of the season.
Natasha Cloud has been a nice addition to the team. She brings veteran experience as well as a lot of confidence. Cloud is averaging 9 points and 6 assists per game to start the season. The team should be hungry to get back in the win column after that loss on Saturday. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Dream vs. Liberty picks.

It should be a good game between these two. Atlanta will be looking to make a name for themselves, and New York will be looking for a nice bounce back. Both teams rank in the top-three for offensive and defensive ratings, so I think this comes down to competing.
Give me the Liberty at home for the bounce back. The spread seems in the right place, and I think the Liberty win by double digits. Both teams will battle, but New York’s offense will be too much for Atlanta. I kind of like this game to also go over the 163 points as the Liberty just let up over 90 points.
My other reasoning is because Atlanta relies too heavily on the shooting of Rhyne Howard or Allisha Gray. You never know if you’re getting 2-for-15 or a 6-for-10 shooting night. There is no in between with these ladies and it makes it difficult to be consistent.
I like for Sabrina to keep it going. She is coming off a 34-point game where she shot 11-of-20 from the field, including 4-for-10 from three-point range. I like her to get three or more three-pointers for +116 and you can sprinkle four or more for +300. She started slow from three this year, but has since come around. Ionescu also hit her last two games vs. the Dream in the playoffs last year.
