To end off the holiday weekend, we head to Connecticut for a battle between the Las Vegas Aces and the Sun. These two teams faced off a little over a week ago and the Aces molly whopped the Sun by 26 points.
Connecticut is having a rough start to the season with a 2-15 record. They come into this game on a nine-game losing streak. The Sun are 1-9 in their last 10 games and 1-6 at home this year. Unloading the entire team this offseason is really starting to show.
Tina Charles and Marina Mabrey both lead this team with 15 point and 5 rebound per game averages. In my opinion, there is something wrong there as Mabrey should be averaging over 5 assists per game and Charles should be averaging closer to 8 rebounds per game.
The team ranks last in the league for offensive and defensive ratings. It’s really hard to find a bright spot on this team. They really have no depth and are in a complete rebuild. Let’s see if they can get over the 7.5 wins their line is set at for +104.
Aces try to get back to their winning ways after rough start to season

Aces center A’ja Wilson grabs the rebound after a miss shot by the Sun.
The Aces are 8-9 so far this year and 5th in the West. Definitely a surprising spot for the Aces as they have always been the beast of the West. They come into this game off an embarrassing loss to the Fever on Thursday night.
Las Vegas is 4-6 in their last 10 games and are 3-5 on the road this year. The team was without center A’ja Wilson for a few games due to a concussion, but she has since returned. Wilson leads this team with 22 points and 9 rebounds per game. She is quietly making a case for MVP ranking 2nd in most statistical categories.
In the offseason, the Aces added what may end up being the largest disappointment in pickups in Jewell Loyd. They traded away guard and core member Kelsey Plum in a three-team trade to land Loyd who has done nothing. She is barely averaging 11 points per game when she has averaged well into the 20’s in the past.
After that beat down, the Aces are going to look to bounce back big. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Aces vs Sun picks.

This should be a layup for the Aces. This is a perfect spot to get right for them against what might as well be a JV High School basketball team. They handled business without a problem last game, and I don’t see any different happening this game.
Las Vegas moved the ball around well last matchup. Wilson had 22 points while Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young and Jewell Loyd all scored double digit point totals as well as high rebound totals with the Sun’s poor shooting.
Wilson’s point line is 22.5 (-122) which is right where she ended up the last 2 matches vs the Sun. I think we see a big game from her as she’s hit her line in the last 2 games and both on the road. A’ja’s getting back in her grove and this is a great game for her to continue that.
The other line I like is for Jewell Loyd to grab 4 or more rebounds for -156. She has hit the line in her last 4 out of 5 games. Loyd grabbed 7 in their last matchup and has hit in her last 5 games vs the Sun.
