In the second game of a back-to-back, the Dallas Wings will take on the Phoenix Mercury. The two teams have traveled to Arizona and the Mercury will be looking to redeem themselves. Dallas won last game by eight points in a shocking game.
The Wings are 6-13 this season and last in the Western Conference. That last win on Thursday over one of the best teams in the league was huge. They moved to 5-5 in their last 10 games, and it was their second win in a row. Dallas struggles a bit on the road though with a 2-7 record.
Rookie Paige Bueckers continues to shine. She had 23 points, four rebounds, and five assists in the win over Phoenix. The team was without Arike Ogunbowale and DiJonai Carrington, but forward Aziaha James stepped up with 28 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Dallas will play without both ladies again tonight.
It was surprising to see Phoenix not dominate against an injured Dallas team, but the Wings really came to play. It looks like there will be injuries on both sides going into this game, so let’s get into it.

Mercury will try to redeem themselves and win second game

Phoenix Mercury guard Kahleah Copper pulls up for a shot from three-point range.
The Mercury are 12-6 this season and second in the Western Conference. The offseason additions of Satou Sabally and Alyssa Thomas are more than paying off. Kahleah Copper was given some real weapons to play with.
Unfortunately, Copper missed a good portion of the beginning of the season. She since has come back, but will miss this game with a hamstring injury. The other injury news is Satou Sabally will miss the game as well with an ankle injury.
These are a big blow to the Phoenix offense and should definitely have them concerned for tonight. Dallas showed they could handle them while being injured, so now the same crew will get to face an injured Mercury team and could whoop them. The team will heavily rely on Alyssa Thomas to run both the offense and defense.
This could end up being a tough one for Phoenix and they’ll need their bench to step up. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Wings vs. Mercury picks.

Last game may have been a fluke, but it doesn’t help Phoenix to now not have Sabally and Copper. Copper alone put up 33 points last game and they still lost. The Mercury will have to find someone to replace all that production, which will be tough.
I think Dallas will play right off the momentum of last game. For whatever reason, this new starting five clicked very well, so we should see more. The Wings will rely on Aziaha James again to help fill the voids of Ogunbowale and Carrington on offense and defense. She did a great job last game, so keep an eye out for her lines on sportsbooks.
Give me Paige to get 20 or more points for -140 and 25 or more for +235. This girl is a certified bucket getter, and I love how she plays. Her mid-range game and way she weaves in and out of defenses to find shots is spectacular. She’s a flashy player and not a flashy player all at the same time.
On the other side of things, I’m going with Alyssa Thomas to get over her PRA (points, rebounds, and assists combo). She is the only real weapon the Mercury have, and I expect them to move everything through her. We all know how deadly she can be when she’s on her game.
