We have a nice five-game slate on our hands to welcome us back from the All-Star break. Tonight, we’re headed to the Target Center for a battle between the Chicago Sky and the Minnesota Lynx. The last time they played, the Lynx won 91-78.
Minnesota is 20-4 this season and the best in the Western Conference. They were on a two-game winning streak headed into the All-Star break. The Lynx are 8-2 in their last 10 games and still perfect at home with a 12-0 record.
Napheesa Collier is playing on another level. She’s averaging 23.2 points per game, which leads the league, and 7.6 rebounds per game. Collier is just coming off a 35-point, MVP performance in the All-Star game.
This team is deep, which is what makes them so dangerous. They have a full cast from Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride to Alanna Smith and Natisha Hiedeman. Just like their record shows, they’re a tough team to beat.

Chicago looks to keep building on this year and win games

Sky forward Angel Reese goes up for a layup while heavily guarded by the Lynx defense.
The Sky are 7-15 this season and fifth in the Eastern Conference. Chicago has lost their last two games going into the break, so hopefully they were able to reset. They’re 4-6 in their last 10 games and 3-9 on the road this season.
Angel Reese has exploded over her last 10 games or so. Shooting was always her weak point and man has she improved. She’s had 15+ points in her last eight games straight as well as 10 rebounds in her last nine games. Reese is on a whole new level and it’s great to see.
This team’s problem is they lack depth in their roster. Guard Ariel Atkins has been a great pickup for them, but she will be out with a leg injury. Kamilla Cardoso has been looked upon a little harder these last few games and she has delivered, so expect for her to be heavily involved.
It’s going to be a match we’ve seen, and all the other games were very good. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Sky vs. Lynx picks.

This is the fourth time these teams face each other. Last game had the Lynx with the largest win margin of 13 points. Otherwise, the Sky won one of the games and lost the other by five points.
After coming off this break where Minnesota had a lot of players in the ASG, so should be interesting to see if they’re hungover or fired up. From some of the footage we’ve seen, maybe a little hungover (lol). Either way, they’ll be competing in this game.
As mentioned, Chicago will be without Ariel Atkins this game, which will put more pressure on Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso down low. This team lacks that depth, which is exactly what can kill you. Obviously by their record, it’s most definitely hurting them.
I have to go back to what’s not broke don’t fix and that’s Angel Reese to get 27+ points and rebounds (PR) combined. It is juiced at -130, but rightfully so. Reese has smacked this line in her last eight out of nine games. She has also hit the line in all three previous games vs. the Lynx this season.
If you want to pay a little less juice, Reese for 15+ points is -125 and she has smacked it in all the same games above. Her heavily improved shooting has made her a complete threat on both ends of the court.
