An Eastern Conference battle for us tonight and we’re headed to the Windy City. The Washington Mystics will take on the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena. The last time these two teams met was just a week ago and the Mystics won big.
Chicago is 7-21 this season and are just sitting outside a playoff spot. They come into this game off a loss to the Mercury on Sunday by 17 points, which was their eighth straight loss. The Sky are 2-8 in their last ten games and 4-10 at home this season.
The Sky are without forward Angel Reese due to a back injury. They have been without her for their last seven out of eight games. For all the people who talk crap about her, her absence is shown on the spotlight. Chicago is losing games by 20-30 points without Reese.
Guard Ariel Atkins has been out with a leg injury and is still questionable for this game. She produces another 10+ points of offense that’ll be missed. The lack of depth on this team that is going to bury them. A playoff spot is not looking to bright right now.

Washington will look to get back in the win column in Chicago

Mystics guard Brittney Sykes goes to make a move around Sky forward Angel Reese.
The Mystics are 13-14 this year and sitting 7th in the league. They come into this game on a two-game losing they’ll be looking to snap. Washington is 5-5 in their last ten games and 4-9 on the road this season.
If you’ve been following along with me this season, then you know this team is driven by two fantastic rookies. Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron are both continuing to shine this season. Iriafen is averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds per game while Citron is putting up 14 points and grabbing 4 rebounds per game.
Guard Brittney Sykes is leading the team in scoring with 15 per game. She has been somewhat of the leader on this team so far and had a hot start to the season. Shakira Austin has also been contributing plenty after starting the season coming off the bench.
Chicago is in trouble against Washington without Reese. It’s going to be a tall task with the way they’ve been playing too. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Mystics vs. Sky picks.

If we’ve learned on thing during Angel Reese injuries, it’s that this team cannot hang without her in the lineup. The Sky have been getting absolutely crushed without her and now a fast, young Mystics team comes to town.
I think the fire power of Brittney Sykes, Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron should be enough to take the lead. The defense from Shakira Austin and Iriafen should be the other factor to keep a lead. Washington completely out matches them on paper as well as current play.
One player that we can lock in on without Reese is Kamilla Cardoso. She is coming off 6 straight double doubles and we’re taking it again for even money. Cardoso has been the one taking on the work without Reese and it’s not going to change.
The other play I like is for Kiki Iriafen to get 8 or more rebounds for -140 and 10 or more for +185. She is coming two stinkers but will be playing against a defense with really only one good rebounder in Cardoso. Iriafen has grabbed 10 in each of the two games vs. the Sky this year as well.
