Minnesota’s six-game win streak may have ended on Tuesday at New York, but the Lynx have overall not just survived but thrived without the injured Napheesa Collier. And tonight, the WNBA MVP favorite is set to return to the court tonight for the Lynx vs. the Atlanta Dream, who are looking to bounce back from a tough loss of their own on Tuesday in Las Vegas.
Despite Tuesday’s 85-75 loss in Brooklyn, Minnesota (28-6) maintains a healthy lead atop the WNBA standings. But it did no favors for the Dream (22-13), who sit level with the Liberty (22-13) and just ahead of the Mercury (21-13) and Aces (22-14) in a four-way race for the second seed.

Lynx vs. Dream Prediction and Best Bets
After being listed as doubtful for Minnesota’s previous two games, Collier’s return appeared to be imminent. And though the Lynx hold steady atop WNBA championship odds thanks to their play without her, her return is not a moment too soon for her WNBA MVP candidacy with A’ja Wilson averaging 26.9 PPG and 13.1 RPG in the Aces’ season-shifting eight-game win streak.
That includes 32 points and 12 rebounds two nights ago to deal the Dream just their third loss in 12 games and their first road loss in nearly a month.
Can Collier put up something comparable tonight? We should not expect Collier to hit the ground sprinting, but her performances in the first two Lynx vs. Dream matchups this season should be noted.
On June 27, she had 26 points, seven rebounds, and six assists at Atlanta in an overtime win. And on July 27, she went off again in a losing effort, tallying 32 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.
But while I recommend being cautious with Collier props, she’s too impactful to be too quiet tonight. Part of that impact is in getting others involved. She has been especially generous on the road, recording four or more assists in nine of 11 road games, compared to just six times in 15 home games.
Take the over on her dime dishing and take the Lynx for the dub as well. They are 22-4 with her on the floor, and her return will serve as a major boost no matter what her individual numbers are.
Lynx vs. Dream Prediction: Lynx to win
Lynx vs. Dream Best Bets: 1) Lynx -2.5 (-110 at BetOnline) 2) Napheesa Collier over 3.5 assists (+125 at Bovada) 3) Courtney Williams over 5.5 assists (-130 at Bovada)
