The Stank:
Since returning from the Olympic break, both the Fever and Lynx have been on impressive runs. Minnesota is 4-0, having defeated Las Vegas twice and Washington twice. On the other hand, Indiana is 2-0, with victories over Phoenix and Seattle.
The break seems to have benefited Indiana, particularly their young phenom, Caitlin Clark, who has had much-needed rest after a grueling stretch since the start of her final year at Iowa.
Tonight is a significant occasion for the Lynx with Maya Moore’s jersey retirement, which could provide an extra boost. However, they might come out a bit sluggish due to a demanding schedule. They’ve traveled from Washington, back home, to Las Vegas and back home again, playing two more games than the Fever since the break.
The line opened at 4.5 in favor of the Lynx, with some books now offering 5.5. Given the Fever’s extended rest and preparation, they could be the better play tonight. Expect Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston to be in top form as Indiana aims to disrupt the Lynx’s special night.
I’m happy to fade the team on a back-to-back and back a team that’s had almost a week of rest. I’m going with the Fever!
