After a full slate, we are left with only one game today. The Las Vegas Aces will take on the Golden State Valkyries at the Chase Center. This is the second game of a home and home between these two and the Aces stomped the Valkyries last game by 24 points.
Las Vegas is only 15-14 this season and hanging on to the 8th spot in the league. They come into this game off that big win vs. Golden State and will look to carry that momentum. The Aces are 6-4 in their last 10 games and 7-9 on the road this year.
A’ja Wilson is having another great year. She’s averaging 21 points and 9 rebounds per game. She has Jackie Young at guard holding it down with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. Chealsea Gray has been quiet, and Jewell Loyd has been useless.
They are a better team on paper than Golden State and bring championship mentality. The Valkyries are a good home team, and the Aces struggle on the road a bit, so they’ll need to be on their toes.

Valkyries will look to defend home court vs. Aces

Golden State Valkyries forward Laeticia Amihere looks to pass the ball in traffic.
The Valkyries are 14-14 this year and are 9th in the league. They come into this game off that loss to the Aces the other day. Golden State is 5-5 in their last 10 games and are 8-4 at home this season.
With the loss of emerged star Kayla Thornton, the Valkyries are at a loss for leader. They do have some quality players in Janelle Salaun and Veronica Burton. Tiffany Hayes has been another key piece to this team this season.
Defense was this team’s strong point in the beginning of the season. They are good rebounders, ranking second in the league, but slipped to seventh in defensive rating when they were second a few weeks back.
Both teams have a lot to play for, so we should get a good game. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Aces vs. Valkyries picks.

This is a good spot for the Aces to get back-to-back wins. Golden State being good at home could be an X factor, but I think Wilson and co. pull this one out and cover the spread.
I think the Valkyries will keep it close in the beginning, but the Aces should get a nice lead off work from Wilson and Young. Once that happens, there should be no looking back for the Aces. With the position these teams are in, this is a big game for the standings.
Give me A’ja to get 10 or more rebounds for -125. She is coming off 14 boards last game and also had 16 in the game they played previous to last. Her hit rate of 75% over four games and 60% over ten games is hard to deny.
The other play I like is Jackie Young to get 16 or more points for even money. She has been playing extremely well this season and as of late, hitting this line in her last three out of four games. Young put up 20 in the game two days ago and had a 30 piece in the game prior to that.
