Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jannik Sinner Prediction and Picks
When No. 1 and No. 2 last met, it was on the clay in Paris, and what a match it was. Over five and a half glorious hours, the top two players in the world engaged in an epic that should live on in the memory bank and record books for some time.
In the end, Alcaraz defeated Sinner 4-6, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (10-2) to win his fifth Grand Slam title and defeat Sinner for the fifth straight time.
In the fourth set, Sinner was up a break and had three championship points on Alcaraz’s serve. On three consecutive points, all he needed was a slice of good fortune to finish it off.
That Alcaraz came back from that to win makes one wonder just what Sinner must do to beat him.
What you saw at Roland Garros was Sinner’s best. And against everyone not named Carlos Alcaraz, he is 99-5 in the last year and a half. To have as many losses against one player as he does against everyone else over such an extended period of time is absurd to ponder.
There is ultimately very little separation between these two, and the odds across the board are not unreasonable.
The odds also present an outstanding opportunity for Alcaraz bettors. Sinner may be the world number one, but it’s hard to look at this head-to-head, especially after the last match, and back him with any genuine optimism. This is more a neutral surface than clay, but Alcaraz is as home at SW19 as he is at Roland Garros, and a three-peat is on his Sunday menu.
