Today concludes Matchday three in the UEFA Champions League, as the final 18 clubs play their third contest of the league phase. So far in the UCL, we have three clubs that are perfect, with three wins and nine points: PSG, Inter Milan and Arsenal. Three others will try to keep up with them, as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and FK Qarabag are all 2-0-0 with six points. Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are both unbeaten through three matches, sitting with seven points on the table, and it’s worth noting, Juventus and Bodo/Glimt are also unbeaten, but with just two points due to two draws. Let’s get into our favorite picks for Wednesday’s UCL slate.

UEFA Champions League: Wednesday’s Predictions October 22
We will avoid a lot of these matches today, as I have my worries with several teams. Tottenham should be able to get the job done against AS Monaco, along with Liverpool playing against Eintracht Frankfurt, but I will save my coin. Both could potentially forget to show up on the road. However, we do have a couple of picks in the afternoon slate.
Atalanta vs. Slavia Prague UCL Picks

Atalanta hasn’t been all that impressive this season, but they are much more talented than Prague. They were blown out by the defending UCL Champions when they went to Paris, losing 4-0 to PSG in their opener. However, when they hosted Club Brugge, they pulled out a 2-1 win thanks to two goals in the final 15 minutes of play.
Since giving up four goals to PSG, Atalanta have held their opponents to just one goal or less in five straight matches, including two shutouts, one of which was at home. In fact, they have only allowed six total goals in just eight competitive matches (excluding their contest with PSG). The defense is fine, and at home, they are far too talented to lose this match.
As for Slavia Prague, they allowed two goals in the final 12 minutes against Bodo/Glimt at home, gifting the visitors a draw, and then were shutout 3-0 by Inter Milan on their last trip to Italy. Prague managed just one shot on target, three total, and did not earn a single corner kick as Inter Milan controlled over 57% of possession.
Atalanta will take a page out of their Serie A opponent’s playbook this afternoon when hosting Prague. Look for Atalanta to play safe, conservative controlling soccer, tiring out their foes and eventually breaking through for a winner or two.
Prediction: Atalanta Wins 2-0 (+600)
Real Madrid vs. Juventus UCL Picks

Best Bet: Real Madrid ML/Under 4.5 (-104) BetOnline
Now, if you want something juicier, you can take Madrid ML and Under 3.5 for (+150). However, after being burned by Arsenal yesterday, I’ll take as much cushion as I can get. These teams faced off in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, where Real Madrid came out victorious by a score of 1-0 in the Round of 16. So far in the UCL, the Spanish backline has been very impressive.
Despite allowing five goals from Atletico Madrid on the road, in their other 10 matches, they have allowed just five total goals. Marseille jumped out to an early lead when they came to town, but Real Madrid quickly equalized and won despite playing the final 20 minutes with only 10 men. They are outscoring opponents 7-1 in two UCL matches this year, and will be very focused on the task at hand against Juventus.
The Italian side has played to two draws, with Dortmund at home, 4-4, and on the road against Villarreal 2-2. They needed not one, but two stoppage time goals against Dortmund to earn a draw, while allowing a 90′ minute equalizer to their Spanish hosts last time out. Juventus has been shutout in their last two matches, and I believe the hosts have the will and firepower to blank the Italians for a third straight match. Give me Real Madrid paired with an inflated under in this match.
Prediction: Real Madrid Wins 2-0 (+700)
