Seattle Sounders vs. Puebla Leagues Cup Betting Odds
Emiliano Gomez has two goals and an assist for Puebla in the Leagues Cup
The Sounders were the only team to win all three of their Phase One matches outright, going 3-0-0 and earning nine total points. Seattle took down Cruz Azul 7-0 to open the tournament, and followed it up by beating Santos and Club Tijuana 2-1. Since those matches, the Sounders have played two on the road in the MLS, beating the LA Galaxy 4-0, while losing to Minnesota United 1-0.
Seattle is in really good form, and I see that continuing tonight at home.
As for Puebla, they barely snuck into the next round. They finished No. 4 on the Liga MX side of the table, beating out FC Juarez with two outright wins. Puebla beat New York City FC and CF Montreal, but lost to the Columbus Crew, which ended up being enough to advance. However, things aren’t going so well at home.
Puebla ranks No. 17 (of 18) on the Liga MX table, posting a 1-0-4 record in five matches. Since their Phase One contests, Puebla have been shutout twice, being outscored 9-0 in just two matches.
Will they be able to rally on the road in a hostile environment to keep their Cinderella run alive? Personally, I don’t think they have it in them.

Look, Seattle is a big favorite and for good reason. They are the much better squad in much better form. The fact that they are heavily juiced isn’t going to scare me away, but instead we are going to have to get a little creative.
I keep bouncing back and forth between Seattle to win by two, or for them to do so in shutout fashion. Either is a good bet in my eyes, so let me try to convince you on both of them below.
Seattle Sounders vs. Puebla Leagues Cup Picks
Seattle hosts Puebla at Lumen Field in the Leagues Cup Quarterfinals
Best Bet: Seattle Sounders -1.5 (+105) Bovada
During this competition, the Sounders have been incredible. Sure, they only covered this number in one game of Phase One, but they did win that game by seven goals. Tonight they face a much inferior opponent, who has lost by two in three of their last four matches.
I see the Sounders showing no mercy.
They didn’t show any on the road against the Galaxy, and Minnesota is a very tough opponent. At home, they are insanely good, and I trust them to win by at least two.
Now, you can take Seattle ML/BTTS No for (+175) if you want, but I could see Puebla finally breaking through. Either way, the Sounders are rock solid at Lumen Field.
At home this season, Seattle is 11-5-1 (W-D-L), shutting out their opponent seven times and winning by two goals six times as well. Their dominance will show as they get another easy win for us.
Prediction: Seattle Wins 2-0 (+700) OR 3-1 (+900)
LA Galaxy vs. Pachuca Leagues Cup Picks
Pachuca take on the LA Galaxy out in California tonight
Best Bets: Pachuca ML (+140) BetOnline
We are backing Pachuca here. You can take the Draw No Bet at (-125) if you would rather, but I trust them to get the job done in 90 minutes.
Pachuca beat San Diego FC (No. 1 in West) and the Houston Dynamo in Phase One of the Leagues Cup, and have followed it up by sitting at the top of the Liga MX table. They are 4-0-1 in five domestic league matches, and are coming off a 2-0 loss at home. I’m confident that they were looking ahead to this contest.
Pachuca has three shutouts in Liga MX play this season, shutting out No. 2 Monterrey to open the season. They looked strong in the FIFA Club World Cup in preseason, and came out firing in their opening matches of the Leagues Cup. I see them riding that momentum tonight, even on the road.
The LA Galaxy played some of the lower tier teams in the Liga MX during Phase One, and they’ve had a rude awakening since. They’ve lost two straight MLS matches, getting skunked 4-0 by Seattle at home and losing 3-1 to Inter Miami on the road. While they are at the bottom of their domestic league standings, and their motivation and focus should be on this tournament, I think Pachuca is the stronger team in better form, and it will show tonight on the pitch.
Prediction: Pachuca Wins 2-0 (+1200)
