The UEFA Champions League Semifinals continues today with the second leg of our final matchup. Inter Milan stamped their ticket to the UCL Final after beating Barcelona 4-3 in an extra time, seven goal thriller at home yesterday. This is Inter’s 2nd UCL Final appearance in the past three years, as they lost to Manchester City 1-0 in 2023. They’ll face the winner of today’s match in France as Paris Saint-Germain hosts Arsenal in the UCL Semifinals. PSG goes into this one with a 1-0 aggregate lead after beating Arsenal at the Emirates last week.
All it took was a 4th minute goal from Ousmane Dembélé for the French side to steal one on the road before heading back home. Now all they have to do is defend their lead in their own stadium and they’ll make their first UCL Finals appearance since losing in 2020 to Bayern Munich, 1-0. PSG has been to the Semifinals four of the past six seasons, only getting through once.
Surely they play conservative and defend their lead at home. As for the Gunners? They’ll be gunning for extra time as they must at least win this match in regulation to keep their UCL dreams alive.

Arsenal goes on the road down 1-0 after losing in their own house. They have their backs against the wall, nothing to lose, but they’ll have to be aggressive. Despite being down for nearly the entire match last time out, Arsenal retained just 48% of possession, and were outshot 10-11 overall. Now, they won the corner kick battle 3-1, and actually outshot PSG on frame 5-4, however they did not ever look comfortable or dangerous. As for the French side, they were cool, calm, and collected the entire match, limiting scoring chances from Arsenal, and I think they’ll be able to do the same thing at home.

Despite me thinking PSG handles business, I do think we end in a draw, which would entail the French side advances. However, I do not think they are going to be very aggressive on offense today. Plus, Arsenal’s back line is superb.
Now, the Gunners will need to give it all they’ve got, but I think they’re weary enough of the PSG counter attack. William Saliba patrols the back line for Arsenal, and marking Dembélé at all times will be a key to keeping them in this match. Ultimately, it’s going to be tough to do on the road, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Arsenal pulls this off. Obviously a 1-1 draw like stated above wouldn’t get the job done, but with Saka, Martinelli and Ødegaard accompanied by Merino, anything is possible. As long as they play aggressive and solid on the back end, Arsenal certainly has a chance.
Regardless, PSG has the defense to hold, and they know they probably could get away with a scoreless draw in this match. Mendes, Pacho, Marquinhos and Hakimi are a phenomenal bunch, and again, I expect them to spend plenty of time defending the Arsenal attack. I trust the Gunners back line to hold strong for 90 minutes and keep this match close enough to give them a shot.
