Major League Soccer: Saturday’s Predictions

Toronto FC vs New England Revolution Best Bets

Can Toronto FC take down New England at home?

Denandre Kerr has two goals for Toronto FC this season

Best Bet: Toronto FC ML (+145) BetOnline

We’ve got another collab with our friends over at BetAlytics! Back the home town team in this match. I also don’t hate the draw no bet at (-140) either, as this should be a low scoring affair.

Toronto has scored and conceded just two goals each in their last five games, resulting in a 1-1-3 record. At home, I think they should be able to slow down New England, and maybe even sneak in a winner. The Revolution have won three straight matches, shutting out their opponent in all three. However prior to that they allowed seven goals in just six matches, only scoring three for themselves. It may look like have things figured out, but against a solid opponent like Toronto on the road, look for the home town defense to be enough to get them this victory. One goal is probably all they need.

I expect the Revolution to regress back to normal form against a formidable opponent away from home.

Prediction: Toronto FC Wins 1-0 (+650)

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Real Salt Lake Best Bets

Brian White and the Vancouver Whitecaps are set to host Real Salt Lake in MLS action

The Whitecaps take on Real Salt Lake at home

Best Bets: Vancouver ML/Over 1.5 (-111) BetOnline

Back the Whitecaps at home tonight against a bad Real Salt Lake team. Vancouver is one of three teams with 20 goals this season (two per match) but they’ve allowed just seven all season. The other two teams who have scored 20 have allowed 15 (Portland) and 19 (San Jose). Tonight I think we get both goals from the Whitecaps, as I also thought about this parlay with over 2.5 for +135, or them to record a clean sheet at (+150). Regardless, get ready for some home domination.

Vancouver has netted 18 goals in their 11 home matches across all competitions this season. They are unbeaten in their past nine matches, winning three straight and five of their last seven. This team is firing on all levels, and Real Salt Lake is a weaker opponent coming to town. Despite coming off a 3-1 road win against San Diego FC, they couldn’t show up on the road against Nashville or Minnesota (more comparable opponents to Vancouver). Real Salt Lake has been on the receiving end of a 4-0 and 2-0 road shutout, and I could see that happening again today. While they are scoring over a goal per game, they are allowing closer to 1.5.

Give me the Whitecaps in dominate fashion.

Prediction: Vancouver Wins 3-0 (+1100)
