Major League Soccer: Saturday’s Predictions September 13
FC Cincinnati vs. Nashville SC: MLS Picks

Evander and FC Cincinnati host Nashville SC in a huge Eastern Conference showdown
Best Bet: FC Cincinnati/Nashville SC Under 3 (-143) Bovada
I don’t hate Under 2.75 for (-108), but I’ll pay the juiceman for push potential in this game. We have two of the top four teams in the Eastern Conference, with Nashville technically tied for third with Charlotte FC in points. With just five matches remaining for each club, points here are crucial, and I see the teams being a bit cautious late in the season.
The Philadelphia Union have a five point lead on FC Cincinnati who is No. 2 on the table, and while they do have some tougher games remaining, it’s hard to imagine they give up the top spot. The hosts focus should be on keeping Charlotte, Nashville and Orlando City at bay. Orlando City has an extra match and is just three points behind Nashville and Charlotte. The Columbus Crew are just one point behind them with an extra match, and Inter Miami also has 46 points but with nine matches to play.
Point being, FC Cincinnati and Nashville SC will both be fine with a draw. Cincinnati are coming off two straight home losses, and have dropped three straight at home, all by a score of 1-0. These teams played in Nashville in March, with Cincinnati pulling off a 2-1 upset on the road with a stoppage time penalty. Nashville also had a PK saved in that match.
Tonight, both teams will be extra conservative and focused on securing the backline, leading me to think this becomes a 1-1 draw.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw (+575)
Seattle Sounders vs. LA Galaxy: MLS Picks

Daniel Musovski seems to score whenever he wants to this MLS season
Best Bet: Seattle Sounders ML/BTTS No (+180) BetOnline
The Sounders are so good at home. So freaking good. I’ve given you the numbers plenty, I have them written down in my handy, dandy notebook several times, but let me just show the Sounders dominance once again.
Seattle at home this season boasts a 12-5-1 record, losing just one game outright (excluding their FIFA Club World Cup matches). They have shutout their opponent eight times, and have won by two on seven separate occasions as well. This team is the truth, especially at home. The LA Galaxy have nothing else to play for this season, but Seattle can still move up in the standings.
For starters, the Sounders have already shut this team out twice this season, and they’ve done it two times in a month as well. Seattle beat the Galaxy 2-0 on the road in the Leagues Cup Semifinals on August 27, and beat them 4-0 in MLS play at Dignity Health Sports Park on August 10 as well. The Sounders have everything to play for, they’re coming off two straight shutout wins, and now should be focused on ending the MLS season strong. Tonight they assert their Western Conference dominance with a win over a much inferior opponent who should roll over and die.
Prediction: Seattle Sounders Win 2-0 (+700)
Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Philadelphia Union: MLS Picks

Tai Baribo and the Union have a tough match on the road tonight
Best Bets: Vancouver Whitecaps/Philadelphia Union Under 3 (-119) BetOnline
This one will be sweaty, but we get some push potential without too much juice. Prior to their last five goal outing, Vancouver had eight straight matches stay under or push at this number. In MLS play, the Union have also had 12 of their last 14 push or stay under this number. I know we don’t play for pushes, but we don’t complain about them either.
Both teams have several starters coming back from international break. Their fitness may be in question after some work with their national teams, and some may be rested for this reason. Philadelphia has a substantial lead in the Eastern Conference, so they should be fine with earning a point on the road against another playoff squad. Vancouver currently sits No. 3 in the Western Conference, sitting just two points behind Minnesota United, but they do have two extra matches.
While the hosts may be aggressive and both offenses are very good, the defenses are phenomenal. Vancouver is allowing just 1.15 goals per match, while Philadelphia gives up less than a goal per match (0.90). I see both teams playing cautious as the postseason approaches, preparing to save their legs for when it really matters.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw (+625)
