Hany Mukhtar has 11 goals this season for Nashville - MLS Picks

Plenty of action happens across the MLS tonight so our expert’s dove in to the massive soccer slate and found their best bets. Typically a 14 match board can be a little daunting, but we narrowed our scope, focusing on a couple of key matchups where we think we have an edge. Let’s hope our MLS Picks stay hot tonight!

Major League Soccer: Saturday’s Predictions July 19

Columbus Crew vs. DC United: MLS Picks

Russell-Rowe has seven goals for Columbus this season - MLS Picks

Russell-Rowe has seven goals for Columbus this season

Best Bet: Columbus Crew -1.5 (+100) BetOnline

We are backing the Crew at home to win by at least two against a sorry DC United squad. They already took down United in DC by a score of 2-1, plus they have won three straight at home, including going unbeaten in their last seven at Lower.com Field.

DC United are scoring less than a goal per match, 0.83 to be specific, and are giving up nearly two, at 1.87. The Crew are part of a four horse race for the top of the Eastern Conference. They sit three points ahead of Inter Miami, and three points behind Nashville SC for third place. They know Nash has an easy matchup against Toronto at home tonight, so Columbus should come focused and ready to earn three much needed points at home.

DC United have given up a conference worst 43 goals this season, and with the Crew netting 38 already this season, they easily have the offensive attack to win this by a couple goals for us.

Prediction: Columbus Wins 3-0 (+725)

Philadelphia Union vs. Houston Dynamo: MLS Picks

Tai Baribo has 14 goals for the Union this MLS season - Philadelphia Union Houston Dynamo Picks

Tai Baribo has 14 goals for the Union this MLS season

Best Bet: Philadelphia Union Draw No Bet (-108) BetOnline

The best team in the East faces a struggling squad from the West, but we will back the road visitors. The Dynamo have lost two straight and five of their last seven overall. They are allowing 1.65 goals per match this season, and have given up seven in their last three. Houston was just shutout at home by the No. 2 team in the West, with Vancouver coming to town and beating them 3-0.

Vancouver is second in the Western Conference, has scored 38 goals this season, and has allowed just 25. Philadelphia are No. 1 in the East, and have scored 39 goals while allowing just 22. The Union are leading the league in goal differential and goals allowed and I think they roll tonight.

I have also sprinkled on the Union ML at (+170) as this line is too good to pass up.

Philadelphia have won two straight, four of their last six, and are unbeaten in 13 of their last 15 matches. This team is on top of the table for a reason, but they lead FC Cincinnati by one point, and Nashville by just two. They need to keep building a gap between those teams, and picking up three points on the road tonight will be crucial in doing so.

Prediction: Philadelphia Union Win 2-0 (+1200)

Nashville SC vs. Toronto FC: MLS Picks

Surridge leads Nashville with 17 goals this season - Nashville Toronto Picks

Surridge leads Nashville with 17 goals this season

Best Bet: Nashville to Win to Nil (+150) BetOnline

Nashville to Win to Nil, Nashville and Both Teams to Score No, however your book words it, Nashville wins in shutout fashion tonight.

They are CLIMBING up the Eastern Conference standings, and we are getting 30 more cents of juice than the rest of the market. Nashville beat Toronto FC earlier this year, 2-1, but the Canadiens’ goal came in the final seconds of stoppage time. The hosts are barely giving up a goal per match, while Toronto is barely scoring a goal per contest this season.

Sure, Toronto’s defense has been good, but they have gotten too comfortable at home. Toronto has played just three away matches in their last 13 MLS contests. And GEODIS Park is a tough place to play.

Nashville has had 12 matches at home this season. They have eight wins, three draws, and just one loss. This includes six shutouts. Recently, Nashville has two straight shutout wins at home, and has shutout their visitors in three of their last four.

I mentioned Toronto’s defense being alright, but not on the road. They give up 1.32 goals per match this season, and that rises to 1.67 on the road. Give me Nashville in a dominant victory at home, keeping their visitors off the scoreboard.

Prediction: Nashville Wins 2-0 (+525)
