New York will give it all they have without Martinez in big game

NYCFC is 17-12-5 this year and finished in the fifth seed in the Conference. This is their third trip to the Conference Finals in five years. They come into this game off a big 1-0 win over Philadelphia last round.

The team lost their best player, Alonso Martinez, to an ACL tear. He was in a practice with team Costa Rica when the injury occurred. Really stings as a City fan to lose our best player in the middle of a playoff run to a practice injury. Not sure what management was thinking by letting him go play.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the NYCFC defense can contain the Miami offense. That’s going to their best chance of getting a victory with Martinez being out. If they can do that and capitalize on one or two offensive chances, a miracle will be granted.

Well, as much as it pains me to write, but Miami should roll today. Martinez has been such a pillar to the success of New York that they really need him to get passed Messi. Especially having home field advantage, it should be all Miami here.

Since they are favored so heavily, we had to find the value. The Miami moneyline and two or more total goals is going to be the play. This team has been lighting it up their past three games and it should continue today. Miami could clear the three goals needed on their own.

The first play I like is Messi to record 1 or more assists for +110. This line is a steal, especially with him coming off a 3-assist game last game. He also recorded an assist in the last game they played back in September. It’s the goat – don’t over think it.

With not over thinking it, I’m going to pair his anytime goal with the anytime assist for +167. He has just torn it up this year and they’ll need more of the same today. Messi also had a goal and an assist in their last match as well.
