Major League Soccer: Saturday’s Predictions

Charlotte FC vs Columbus Crew Best Bets

Will Columbus take down Charlotte on the road tonight?

Sean Zawadzki patrols the midfield for the Columbus Crew

Best Bet: Columbus Crew ML (+112) BetOnline

Back Columbus on the road. I’ll admit this is more of a fade of Charlotte, but they’ve given us good reason to do so. Charlotte has lost their last five straight MLS matches, and have done so by 2+ goals in three of those, including losing to the Crew 4-2 on the road. Sure, they are back at home now, but it won’t matter. They are struggling to find their form this season and won’t be doing so against Columbus.

The visiting Crew are netting 1.6 goals per game this season, and are putting up 2.0 in their last five. They are coming off three straight draws, so they are eager to earn another three points. They’ve lost just once this season, and for plus money I think they are worth backing on the road. Give me the Crew to come out on top again against Charlotte who will spend plenty of time defending.

Prediction: Columbus Wins 2-0 (+1100)

Inter Miami vs Philadelphia Union Best Bets

Can Philadelphia take down Inter Miami at home?

Tai Baribo has 11 goals for the Union this season

Best Bets: Philadelphia Union ML (+136) BetOnline

The Philadelphia Union find themselves in a classic Revenge Spot at Home. They lost to Inter Miami down in Florida very early in the MLS season. Now the league leaders host the star studded team who is slipping down the table.

The Union lead the conference in goal differential at +13, and are tied for 1st in goals scored at 27. They’ve won three straight matches and are unbeaten in their last eight in all competitions. They have just one home loss this season, and again, with revenge on their mind, I trust them to stay on top of the table.

Inter Miami have not won in their last three matches, allowing 10 total goals from their opponents. Miami has not performed well on the road this year, and against a highly motivated Union team that is in great form, I think the plus money has plenty of value tonight.

Prediction: Philadelphia Wins 3-1 (+1400)

Austin FC vs Minnesota United Best Bets

Can Minnesota beat Austin FC at home?

Wil Trapp has started nearly every game for Minnesota this season

Best Bets: Minnesota United ML (-125) BetOnline

We’ve got another collab with our friends at Betalytics. We are 9-3 on the season and hoping to get to double digits in the win column in Minny tonight!

Minnesota United have won two straight overall and three straight at home. They’ve lost just once at home this season, and have netted 10 in their last three at Allianz Field. Minnesota also already beat Austin FC 3-0 on the road earlier in the year. Since then, Austin has settled into a better form, but haven’t figured things out on the road.

Austin has lost three straight and four of six on the road this year. Despite winning 66% of possession against Minnesota in their first match, Austin had less corners and shots on goal. It will be even tougher to win on the road against a team looking for the season sweep.

For this price, I think Minnesota is certainly worth a go.

Prediction: Minnesota Wins 2-0 (+650)
