Today wraps up the final matches in Phase One of the 2025 Leagues Cup competition. Only the top four from each side of the table advance to the quarterfinals, so clubs must leave it all out on the field tonight. Look for teams to be extra aggressive, adding on some insurance goals as differential will almost certainly come into play to settle some tiebreakers.

Eric Choupo-Moting and the Red Bulls take on FC Juarez tonight
Looking at the MLS side of the table, the Seattle Sounders have claimed the top spot, winning all three of their matches, sitting alone with nine points. Inter Miami has also claimed the No. 2 spot on the table, finishing with eight points. The next two are Orlando City and the Portland Timbers, who are both tied with the Columbus Crew at seven points, but have them beat on goal differential.
There are only three MLS teams that could jump into a position to advance. Those teams are the LA Galaxy, FC Cincinnati, and the New York Red Bulls. All have four points and would end up with seven with a win, but they would need to win big, and overtake the Timbers +5 goal differential. The Galaxy sit at +3, while Cincy and the Red Bulls have a differential of +1 at the moment. It is very likely that no one catches the Timbers.
On the Liga MX side, Toluca is currently on the top of the table with eight points, but it is not technically safe. Pachuca is No. 2 with seven points, followed by Tigres UANL and Puebla, both with six points after three matches. FC Juarez is the only Liga MX team that could move into a spot that advances, and it won’t take much.
FC Juarez sit at five points with a +3 goal differential. A draw would have them jump Puebla on goal differential, and potentially into the No. 3 spot as well, whereas a PK shootout win would propel them to second, and an outright win would put them at the top of the table.
All eyes will be on FC Juarez tonight as they battle the New York Red Bulls, who will also be fired up.

I just eluded to it, so let’s get into the one match that matters for both clubs tonight. Now, this is an asian handicap, so let me break it down for those unfamiliar.
Our one unit is split into two half unit wagers for the same odds. We have FC Juarez +0.5 (-107) and FC Juarez PK (-107), risking 0.5u on both bets. So we are looking at FC Juarez or Draw Double Chance, and FC Juarez Draw No Bet.
If you’d rather, you can just take the double chance, but you’ll have to pay close to -145. To me, this is a game FC Juarez can win outright. If they lose, we lose our unit. If they play to a 90 minute draw, we push and win, walking away with some change, and if they win outright, we win both bets. Easy enough.
FC Juarez only needs one point to move in to an advancing spot on the table, but they also have the ability to climb all the way to the top. They’ll give their best effort, which has been plenty against Charlotte and FC Cincinnati in this tournament so far. I think it will be enough to get them into the next round against a Red Bulls team that needs a miracle to sneak in.
Prior to this tournament, the Red Bulls lost two straight during MLS play, and only have one win in their last eight matches. Give me FC Juarez to knock them out and advance.
