The MLS season is quickly coming to a close, and minimal matches remain for both clubs. While these teams have not faced off against each other in the MLS this season, they did play a couple weeks ago in the Leagues Cup Final. In that match, Seattle absolutely dominated their visitors. The Sounders shutout Inter Miami in a 3-0 victory, holding the star-studded team from South Beach to zero shots on target, despite nine total attempts and eight corner kicks.

The Sounders broke out to a 1-0 lead before adding a penalty kick in the 84′ and another cushion goal in the 89′. Recently, the Sounders remain unbeaten in their last five matches overall, and have lost just one match outright in their last 16 contests. They have just six matches remaining and sit ranked No. 4 on the Western Conference table, with two teams within three points of jumping them. Points tonight will be crucial in extending that gap.

As for Inter Miami, they have eight total matches remaining, and sit No. 8 on the Eastern Conference table. These teams got into a bit of a kerfuffle after the whistle had blown in the Leagues Cup Final, but Javier Mascherano has assured the media that those tensions are long gone, and his squad is focused on winning tonight on the pitch.

While these aren’t the top two teams in their respective conferences, it would not surprise me if we see these two teams end up in the MLS Cup at the end of the postseason. Both clubs are stacked with talent, they are in phenomenal form, and have their sights set on the big picture. Winning tonight is not as important as having a successful postseason is.

Therefore, I think both teams will be a bit conservative, giving us a low scoring contest. However, I will not be backing the under, but instead will take the big, road underdog.

Once again, give me the double chance! In my mind, Seattle is simply the better team here. I get that they are on the road, where they are not as dominant, but the Sounders are still the team to beat to me. Sure, Inter Miami have the revenge spot at home narrative that I love to be a part of, but at -125 the Sounders double chance is the way to go for me. In this match, in nearly every market, the value lies with the visitors in my eyes. The Sounders Draw No Bet line is +162, and the straight ML is over +250 which are both a go from me from a value perspective. However, the double chance is enough for me, and I don’t need to get greedy on a Tuesday.

We see an extremely high total which makes sense considering Inter Miami has plenty of attacking power, but they have been shutout in their past two matches, losing 3-0 in each contest. The season stats compared to Seattle are fairly similar: 54-50 goals scored, 43-40 goals allowed, 41-39 assists, 11-10 goal differential, we’ve got two nearly identical teams.

However I think this match means a little more to Seattle. They are on the road with less chances to move up the standings or protect their place on the table. Points are crucial, and even one point against Inter Miami on the road would be considered a victory. Ultimately, this juice is certainly worth the price for the double chance line, on a team that will prove to be better on the pitch once again.
