FIFA Club World Cup: Friday’s Predictions June 20

Benfica and Auckland City are already off, but the rest of Group C battles late tonight as Bayern Munich takes on Boca Juniors in Miami. Bayern is a huge favorite, but something may be worth betting.

As for Group D, Flamengo and Chelsea kick off to essentially decide the group as both are coming off a win. LAFC takes on Esperance Sportive de Tunis as both teams look to bounce back. I lean LAFC for plus money in this match, simply because I think they are the better team and better equipped to bounce back, but I’ll be staying off.

Chelsea vs. Flamengo: Club World Cup Best Bets

Best Bet: Chelsea ML/BTTS No (+240) BetOnline

In my mind, this is the best bang for our buck. Sure, Chelsea ML is listed at +125, but the total is only listed at two goals. Clearly this is going to be a low-scoring affair, and if that’s the case, I trust Chelsea to break through late.

Flamengo is leading the Brazilian Serie A currently, and are coming off a big win against a much inferior opponent. This one might be a wake up call. Chelsea is a different caliber team than anyone Flamengo has faced recently. They may be a little star-struck, causing them to play slightly scared.

Flamengo will try to make this a shootout, but I trust the Blues to control the possession of this match and play their game. Teams should be relatively cautious for the first 45 minutes, while Chelsea goes for a winner later in the game. They are by far the best team in the group, and should seal a first place finish with a win this afternoon. Again, I think taking them to win in shutout fashion is the best value for your wager in this match, which is why we are getting a little greedy.

Bayern Munich vs. Boca Juniors: Club World Cup Best Bets

Best Bets: Bayern Munich -1.5 (-105) BetOnline

Back Bayern to cover this spread tonight. They are coming off a 10-0 routing of Auckland City, and yes, Boca Juniors are a much better team, but they are not on the same level as Munich. Boca Juniors are currently tied for first on the Argentine Liga Table, but they will be without center back Jorge Figal and center midfielder Ander Herrera, who both pulled red cards against Benfica in their opening match.

Figal controls the back line, while Herrera is a very solid defensive midfielder, so missing them will be huge for their opponent. Bayern Munich is capable of taking advantage of such opportunities, and I see them having another incredible offensive outing. Give me Munich to win by plenty and cover this spread with ease.

Prediction: Bayern Munich Wins 3-0 (+650)
