Today we wrap up the second matches of Group Stage in the FIFA Club World Cup, with the final set beginning tomorrow. However, let’s dive into our best bets as Groups G and H continue today.
FIFA Club World Cup: Sunday’s Predictions June 22
Juventus and Manchester City both won their opening match in Group G. Today they switch opponents, and likely face off to decide the group later this week. Wydad AC takes on the Italian side while Al Ain faces the former EPL Giants. I’ll be staying off of these matchups today, but will likely have picks as Juventus battle Manchester City on Thursday.
Group H is much more entertaining. RB Salzburg sit on top of the group after beating Pachuca in their opener. Real Madrid faces the Mexican side today, looking to bounce back after playing Al Hilal to a draw. The Saudi side faces the Austrians on top of the table, and are looking to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Pachuca has nothing to lose today against the Spanish Giants. They earned eight corner kicks against RB Salzburg in their opener, controlling the majority of possession and outshooting their opponents 17-10, with six of them on goal. I see them staying aggressive today against Real Madrid, and I think they are capable of netting at least one for us.
As for Real Madrid, they need three points. Regardless of Salzburg’s result today, a win today ensures they can win the group by beating the Austrians in their final match. They should leave nothing up to chance tonight, and give the fans plenty of fast paced, exciting soccer to root for.

RB Salzburg impressed me by winning their opening match late against Pachuca, despite being on “holiday”. They set themselves up in a great position going forward, and handling business tonight almost guarantees they advance to the Round of 16. Assuming Real Madrid wins, which Salzburg will know before they take the field, one point keeps them on top of the group. A win today would put them up two points against Madrid going into their final match.
My point… For Salzburg today, a draw puts them in a great place going forward to advance. A win pretty much solidifies they’ll make the bracket. Al Hilal is fighting for their life, and couldn’t produce much against Real Madrid. It took a penalty for them to find the back of the net, after allowing 19 shots and 7 corner kicks from the Spanish side.
Regardless of Real Madrid’s early result, RB Salzburg should be conservative, and look to do anything to avoid the loss. A scoreless draw in this contest wouldn’t surprise me, which would be a winner for us. For plus money, I’ll gladly back the Austrians on the double chance line tonight, a market where we have had plenty of success this season.
