Iliman Ndiaye leads Everton with two goals so far this EPL season - Everton West Ham United Picks

We wrap up a full weekend of action on the pitch with two teams playing a stand alone match on Monday afternoon. Both clubs find themselves a decent ways down the EPL table currently, and would like to move in the other direction. There is a still a long way to go this season, but digging yourself an even bigger hole to climb out of is not ideal and today, we will find out if either team can turn things around. Let’s find our favorite picks as Everton takes on West Ham United this afternoon in their new stadium.

While neither of these clubs are having successful seasons so far, Everton is in a better place than West Ham. Through five matches this year, Everton has earned points in three of them, with two wins and a draw, as well as two losses. The visitors haven’t had anything positive to cheer about this year, losing four matches outright and winning just once. Overall, they’ve netted just one less goal than Everton, but have allowed over 10 to their foes. Will things change this afternoon?

In three competitive matches at home this year, Everton are unbeaten and have not allowed a goal. They shutout Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 for their first EPL win, shutout Mansfield Town 2-0 in the Carabao Cup, and then played Aston Villa to a scoreless draw at home. On the road, things have been a little different, but at their new stadium, they should be just fine. Especially playing a team like West Ham, who have netted goals in just three of their five EPL matches this year. Everton’s back line has certainly been their strength so far this season, and I see them holding strong against an inferior offense coming to town.

I’ll be the first to admit that this matchup doesn’t necessarily move the needle for me in terms of excitement, but nevertheless, it’s still some stand alone EPL action this afternoon that I will be watching. Therefore, let’s find us a pick in the match.

My gut tells me under (crazy, right), but part of me is worried that Everton could overlook an otherwise inferior offense. West Ham netted three goals when they played Nottingham Forest on the road, but all three of those were netted in the final 10 minutes of the match. Point being, the offense isn’t anything to really be scared of, and here I go talking myself into backing them to remain scoreless.

Best Bet: West Ham TT Under 0.5 (+130) BetOnline

You may be asking… “Why not add Everton ML and BTTS no for more juice?”… I’m glad you asked. Adding Everton ML to this bet only adds about 50 cents of juice, so you’d get the parlay for about +180. I honestly see a world where this match ends in a 0-0 draw (as you can see with my prediction down below) so I don’t want to rely on Everton to find a way to win.

West Ham United, despite being in a position of desperation so early in the season, should be more cautious on the road. Everton is not a club that is going to beat you by scoring three goals per match. They’ve only netted six in five so far this year, but the back line has been rock solid as well. Ultimately, I see both clubs being alright with earning a point in a draw. Sure, both would prefer to win the match (duh), but this early in the year, the visitors would be ecstatic to walk away with a point, especially considering how they’ve started this year.

Everton’s back line is very good, and I trust them to pitch a shutout this afternoon at home. Lucky for us, West Ham probably nets one early (if at all), so we won’t have to suffer through the rest of this mediocre match in the EPL. If you want a bit of a safer play, just back the under 2.5 (-113), as in my eyes, no matter who scores first, they will end up parking the bus for the rest of the match. I really don’t see a world where more than two balls find the back of the net in this match.

Prediction: 0-0 Draw (+1000)
