EPL is back this weekend so let’s head to the pitch. Arsenal will host Nottingham Forest at Emirates Stadium today. It’s the first game of an eight-game slate Saturday and the first time these two teams face off this season.
Arsenal has started off 2-0-1 this season and are currently tied for third in the table. They come into this game off their first loss of the season to Liverpool. In their first home game of the season, they put up five goals vs. Leeds, so we’ll see if they’re comfortable at home again.
It was a tough match two weeks ago against the leagues defending champs. Arsenal couldn’t get one in the net, but I think they break that ice today. They are missing three of their offensive weapons in Bukayo Saka, Kau Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
We’ll have to wait until lineups drop early in the morning for the status on these three guys. It will make a huge difference and they’re coming off a break, so it’s possible they play.

Nottingham looks to get back in the win column on the road vs. Arsenal

Forward Chris Wood stands in front of the net after just scoring a goal.
Nottingham Forest is 1-1-1 to start the year and tenth in the table. They come into game off a loss two weeks ago to West Ham United. Nottingham is coming off a really good season last year and look to carry that into this year.
Chris Wood is the leader of this team. He just had a twenty-goal season last year and has netted two already this year. Other than Wood, this squad could use some offensive help. Callum Hudson-Odoi is due to score; he’s hit all three of his shots on target this season.
If Forest can get some offense going, they’ll hope they’ll be playing a injured Arsenal squad. They’re going to have to play top notch defense either way, but without a few guys could make the difference. Wood is going to need to get chances.
We’ll keep our eyes out for the lineup in the morning. Could be a really good game in the end if it stays close. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Arsenal vs. Nottingham picks.

Depending on the line up, I see this as a nice home game for Arsenal. They played the best team in the league without these players and almost won. I like for Arsenal to get on the board plenty and win this game by 2 or more.
Look for Declan Rice to be heavily involved. He’ll need to step up on offense as well will Viktor Gyokeres. Gyokeres has netted two goals this season and we’re taking his anytime goal for -135. He has become a core offensive player and will be heavily involved.
At home, I honestly see Arsenal coasting here. If any of the guys do play, it’s just an added bonus to that offense. Rice and Gyokeres will still try and hold it down either way.
For another play, I like for Chris Wood and Gyokeres to both record 1 or more shots on target for +111. Each guy has three shots on target for the season, and the volume will be there in this game as well.
