Through four UCL matches, we still have three teams who are undefeated, and another who is unbeaten. Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Inter Milan are all 4-0-0 so far, and sit at the top of the table with 12 points. Manchester City is right behind them with 10 total points after a 3-1-0 record through four matches. On the bottom of the standings, Benfica and Ajax are both 0-0-4, while seven other squads are still searching for their first UCL win, including Juventus who are 0-3-1 with three points.

However, Chelsea and Barcelona are both tied at seven points a piece with two wins, a draw and a loss. The hosts have won their last three domestic league matches in shutout fashion, and have won both of their other UCL contests at home. But those matches were against Benfica and Ajax, the two worst teams in the league. Barcelona has a much better attack.

But the Spaniards have struggled on the road this year. They drew at Club Brugge last time out in the UCL, and have losses to Real Madrid and Sevilla on the road in La Liga. Barcelona beat Newcastle United (at St. James Park) and Olympiacos, but lost to Paris Saint-Germain when they came to town. How will Lamine Yamal and company perform on the road today?

Despite Chelsea playing much better recently and having home field advantage, I think the Spanish can pull out a win. The value certainly lies with the Spanish side in this game, but let me be clear… “value” does not always mean “plus money”…

Best Bet: Barcelona +0.5 (-150) BetOnline

I am laying the 1.5 units to win one on this wager. All we need is Barcelona to earn a draw on the road in a 90 minute match. Yes, their back line makes me want to vomit at times, but their attack is more than capable of winning them this game on their own. If you don’t want to pay this juice, go with the draw no bet at +130. That way, you still get plus money on their moneyline, but you also have some push potential if they only earn a single point.

Chelsea has not seen a team of this caliber in a while; it’s been almost two whole months. Their last eight matches across all competitions were against Burnley, Wolverhampton (x2), FK Qarabag, Tottenham, Sunderland, Ajax and Nottingham Forest. That won’t prepare you for Barcelona. Three of those teams are part of the bottom five in the EPL (two are at the very bottom), Sunderland and Tottenham are middle of the pack, while Qarabag and Ajax clearly aren’t on the same level as Barcelona.

The Spanish side is currently No. 11 on the UCL table, but they are No. 4 in goals scored, being one of nine teams to net double digits goals though four matches. Getting into the top eight before the end of the League Phase is crucial, and picking up any points on the road would be huge for Barcelona. They are just a single point behind Real Madrid in their domestic league with a 10-1-2 record. With only three losses all competition season, the Spanish side are capable of earning a draw and cashing our bet.

Prediction: Barcelona Wins 2-1 (+1000)
