We’ve reached our final day of matches in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 as two more teams punch their ticket into the quarterfinals today. This afternoon, Real Madrid battles Juventus, and later tonight, Borussia Dortmund takes on Monterrey.
Can the Germans get past this pesky Mexican side? Or will Sergio Ramos lead Monterrey into the final eight of this tournament?
Borussia Dortmund vs. Monterrey: Club World Cup Betting Odds

Brandt has one assist for Dortmund in this tournament
The Germans won their group with seven points. They drew with Fluminense, who knocked off Inter Milan yesterday, but then beat the Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan to come in first place. Dortmund netted five goals, but allowed three in their group stage matches.
Monterrey played through a tough group but did enough to advance. They drew with Inter Milan and River Plate, and things were looking grim. However, they took down the Urawa Red Diamonds 4-0 in their final match, and it ended up being enough to move on to the bracket.
Now they have another tough task facing Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16.

I do not believe Dortmund was tested in their group. Monterrey definitely was.
*Sniffs profusely like a hound dog*…. Yep… Smells like an upset to me.
All tournament long, European sides have been surprised at the fire power of some of these western hemisphere clubs. Flamengo took down Chelsea 3-1 and Fluminense upset Inter Milan. These teams are in the middle of their season, but they are primed and ready for competition.
Monterrey is no different, and I expect it to show tonight.
Borussia Dortmund vs. Monterrey: Club World Cup Best Bets

Back Monterrey and Sergio Ramos tonight
Best Bet: Monterrey or Draw Double Chance (+120) BetOnline
We love us a good double chance, and I believe Monterrey can hold on for 90 minutes. In their draw against Real Madrid, they scored early but eventually conceded an equalizer. However, they held on for a point. Against River Plate, their defense held strong the entire game, and finally their offense let loose in the final match when they needed a win.
Tonight, they definitely need a win, and while I’m not backing them to do so in 90 minutes, you can take their draw no bet line at (+285) for plenty of value. We have a total shaded to the over and both teams to score is a little juicer. In my eyes, that’s telling of a 1-1 draw after regulation. That would cash our double chance wager.
We had a couple of bigger upsets yesterday as Fluminense beat Inter Milan and Al-Hilal took down Manchester City, but I think this tournament has one more Cinderella Story in the script. Give me Monterrey to pull off the impossible tonight.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw (+675) OR Monterrey Wins 1-0 (+1500)
