Will Al Hilal Be the Odd Team Out in Group H?
After the first two rounds of matches in Group H, only Pachuca is already certain to bid adieu to the tournament after losses to Salzburg and Real Madrid.
As it stands, the two European sides are in position to move on to the round of 16, but as they face off tonight in Philadelphia, the door is wide open for Al Hilal to advance.
If there is a winner in the Salzburg-Real Madrid match, a win by any margin for Al Hilal to move on to the round of 16, where they would face the winner of Group G (either Juventus or Manchester City).
There are other potential paths to advancement for Al Hilal, but that is the simplest one. And if they do advance, it would mean that four of the six confederations represented at the Club World Cup would have at least one team in the round of 16, with the CAF (represented by Al Ahly, Esperance de Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Wydad Casablanca) OFC (represented by Auckland City) missing out.

Al Hilal vs. Pachuca Prediction and Picks
After a dramatic draw against Real Madrid, Al Hilal should see Sunday’s goalless draw against Salzburg as quite the missed opportunity.
They did well to blank Salzburg, who had not been held scoreless since February, but they were unable to find the back of the net themselves.
Depending on how the tiebreakers play out—or if they come into play—that could be costly for Al Hilal.
However, they do enter this match knowing that they do have some level of control over their destiny, and the best way to leave as little in Salzburg and Real Madrid’s hands is to put this match beyond doubt as soon as possible.
That is a double-edged sword, of course. Needing to score means you may be open at the other end, and it is very much worth highlighting that Pachuca had 17 shots against Salzburg and 25 against Real Madrid and did at least get on the scoresheet against both teams.

BTTS (Both Teams to Score) odds are a bit prohibitive in this spot, coming in at -190 at Bovada, Taking Al Hilal to win is also carries a little more juice than is ideal unless you don’t mind odds in the -160 range.
There are, however, some very intriguing alternative options to be found there and elsewhere.
With Al Hilal needing to score and the earlier the better in that respect, over 1.5 for the first half makes a lot of sense. Also, because there’s a good chance Pachuca will score even in defeat, the Al Hilal to win and both teams to score (+185 at Bovada) combo or Al Hilal to win and the match to go over 2.5 goals (+115 at Bovada) are both well worth a look.
But while both of those options provide solid value, the safest and best play would be to take Al Hilal to win and the match to go over 1.5 goals. At Everygame, that combo is available for -120, and if you make only one play for this match, that should be the one.
It remains to be seen if it will be enough to secure a spot in the last 16, but Al Hilal is the better team and should secure the three points. That said, Pachuca is unlikely to go down without at scoring at least once even with Al Hilal goalkeeper Yassine “Bono” Bounou coming off of two outstanding performances.
