Expanded FIFA Club World Cup Begins in 2025

Like next year’s international showpiece, the Club World Cup has undergone significant expansion.

When it was last held as an annual event in 2023, it was a seven-team tournament. Now, it is set to take place in the year before a national team World Cup, and it is now a 32-team tournament.

This year’s FIFA Club World Cup will be played from Saturday, June 14, to Sunday, July 13, and matches will be held in 11 cities and 12 stadiums across the United States.

How to Bet on the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

If you bet on English Premier League odds, UEFA Champions League odds, or MLS odds, you will be familiar with how to bet on soccer and the types of bets you can make on soccer games and competitions.

At BetOnline and other reputable online sportsbooks, there are a few main types of bets you can make on the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup: sides, totals, prop bets, and futures bets.

Sides and Totals

Moneyline and point spread bets are known as side bets. Side bets are bets made on one side of the outcome.

A moneyline bet is a bet on who will win a match (or a half), while a spread bet is a bet on one team to either win by a particular margin or achieve any result that is better than the listed spread. In soccer betting, spread bets are also known as handicap bets or goal line bets.

During the group stage of the Club World Cup, expect to see some spreads that you may not normally see due to the disparity between some teams.

For example, at BetOnline, the spread for the Bayern Munich-Auckland City match on Sunday, June 15, is Bayern -4.5.

Prop Bets

Soccer betting features a vast and varied prop betting market, including numerous team and player scoring props, corner betting, and more.

For the Club World Cup, BTTS (Both Teams to Score) props will be worth watching for many matches, especially with matches featuring more evenly matched opponents.

Futures Bets

With 63 matches taking place during the tournament, many bettors may opt to focus on FIFA Club World Cup futures bets, rather than figuring out which matches to bet on.

With competitions like the Club World Cup, which feature a group stage then knockout rounds, there is much more to bet on beyond just who you think will lift the trophy on July 13.

BetOnline has a wealth of options, from odds on which stage a team will be eliminated, who will qualify from each group, and who will be the Club World Cup’s top scorer.

Who Is Playing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?

graphic showing the 32 teams playing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

A total of 32 top club teams from around the world will take part in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Results from continental club competitions and continental club rankings determined almost all of the field. The winners of the 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield, Inter Miami, are also taking part.

Additionally, Los Angeles FC and Club America faced off in a one-leg playoff to decide another spot. That occurred because Club Leon, who would have otherwise been in the tournament, and Pachuca have the same owner, and rules against two teams with the same ownership taking part caused Club Leon’s exclusion.

What are the six continental confederations that are a part of FIFA?

  • AFC (Asia)
  • CAF (Africa)
  • CONCACAF (North & Central America)
  • CONMEBOL (South America)
  • OFC (Oceania)
  • UEFA (Europe)

Here is the breakdown of each of the eight groups:

  • Group A: Al Ahly (Egypt/CAF), FC Porto (Portugal/UEFA), Inter Miami (USA/MLS), Palmeiras (Brazil/CONMEBOL)
  • Group B: Atletico Madrid (Spain/UEFA), Botafogo (Brazil/CONMEBOL), Paris Saint-Germain (France/UEFA), Seattle Sounders (USA/CONCACAF)
  • Group C: Auckland City (New Zealand/OFC), Bayern Munich (Germany/UEFA), Benfica (Portugal/UEFA), Boca Juniors (Argentina/CONMEBOL)
  • Group D: Chelsea (England/UEFA), Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia/CAF), Flamengo (Brazil/CONMEBOL), Los Angeles FC (USA/CONCACAF)
  • Group E: Inter Milan (Italy/UEFA), Monterrey (Mexico/CONCACAF), River Plate (Argentina/CONMEBOL), Urawa Red Diamond (Japan/AFC)
  • Group F: Borussia Dortmund (Germany/UEFA), Fluminense (Brazil/ CONMEBOL), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa/CAF), Ulsan HD (South Korea/AFC)
  • Group G: Al Ain (UAE/AFC), Juventus (Italy/UEFA), Manchester City (England/UEFA), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco/CAF)
  • Group H: Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia/AFC), Pachuca (Mexico/CONCACAF), Real Madrid (Spain/UEFA), Red Bull Salzburg (Austria/UEFA)

The top two teams in each group at the end of the group stage will move on to the round of 16, where a group winner from one group will be paired with a runner-up from another group.

The eight round of 16 winners will move on to the quarterfinals, with the four quarterfinal winners moving on to the semis, and the two semifinal winners meeting in the final. Unlike the FIFA World Cup, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will not feature a third-place game.
