It’s been a two horse race for the past several years, but there are some clubs that could surprise some people and dethrone the current champions.

Odds to Win the 2025 English Premier League

  • Liverpool +180
  • Arsenal +240
  • Manchester City +350
  • Chelsea +750
  • Manchester United +2500
  • Newcastle +5000
  • Tottenham +5000
  • Aston Villa +6600

After those top eight teams, the drop off is very significant. Coming in next on the odds board is Nottingham Forest, who surprised everyone last season, listed at 200-1. We have Brighton at 250-1 and Bournemouth at 350-1, going all the way down till we reach the bottom of the projected table, with Burnley and Sunderland both at 1500-1 to win the EPL this season.

Now of course with European football comes promotion and relegation. Three teams not competing in the English Premier League that did last year include Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southhampton. All were relegated to the EFL Championship.

However, three new teams join the EPL, including Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland. Leeds is back after a two year absence, Burnley after just one, but Sunderland is back in the English Premier League after not earning a promotion for eight seasons. But the books don’t have much love for them (why would they?) and they will likely get relegated at the end of this season.

Odds to Be Relegated from the EPL

  • Burnley -300
  • Sunderland -300
  • Leeds United +110
  • Wolverhampton +275
  • Brentford +300
  • West Ham United +550
  • Nottingham Forest +700
  • Crystal Palace +800
  • Everton +800
  • Fulham +850
  • Bournemouth +850

As you can see on this table, there is little love for the three newbies in the league. However, someone may be able to surprise the other clubs and make a name for themselves.

Speaking of surprising some people and showing out, how about betting on who might be the top goalscorer this year?

Erling Haaland and Manchester City are looking to get back on top of the EPL - English Premier League Preview Picks Predictions

Top Goalscorer Odds – English Premier League

  • Erling Haaland (Man City) +150
  • Mo Salah (Liverpool) +550
  • Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal) +650
  • Alexander Isak (Newcastle) +650
  • Cole Palmer (Chelsea) +1600
  • Joao Pedro (Chelsea) +2000
  • Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) +2800
  • Dominic Solanke (Spurs) +2800

Those are the top eight listed on BetOnline, with several other players coming in next at +5000, including Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Liam Delap of Chelsea, and Omar Marmoush of Manchester City. While it is very likely Haaland could lead the league in goals, are we overlooking the fact that Salah led the EPL in not only goals but also assists last season?

He netted 29 goals with 18 assists, and was the only player of his club to play in every match and he started all 38 last season. However there is a guy listed third on the board whom you might not recognize, because he is new to the English Premier League this season.

Let’s look at some of the most anticipated transfers that happened during this summer window.

Viktor Gyökeres led Sporting CP with 39 goals last season - English Premier League Preview Picks Predictions

Viktor Gyökeres led Sporting CP with 39 goals last season

English Premier League Transfers

Viktor Gyökeres – Arsenal

Viktor is easily the most exciting new player brought over to the EPL for this upcoming season. Last season, he started 31 games for Sporting CP in Portugal, netting 39 goals and adding seven assists, leading the league in goals scored by 20. Yes…. the next closest scorer in the league only netted 19.

Gyökeres is a huge addition to the Gunners’ attack and will immediately help them contend with Liverpool for the top of the table. Arsenal’s back line was rock solid last season, but the offense struggled at times, especially with some lingering injuries. So bringing in a score-first striker like Gyökeres absolutely amplifies the entire offense.

Joao Pedro – Chelsea

Joao Pedro was already in the EPL playing for Brighton last year, but now he takes on a new challenge by playing for the Blues. We already saw a little bit of Joao Pedro at Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored three goals in as many matches. The Brazilian forward will certainly help Chelsea compete in the UEFA Champions League.

Florian Wirtz assisted in his first match at Liverpool - English Premier League Preview Picks Predictions

Florian Wirtz assisted in his first match at Liverpool

Florian Wirtz – Liverpool

We just saw Florian Wirtz for Liverpool in the FA Community Shield, where he started and was involved with an assist. The German midfielder comes over from Bayer Leverkusen. The past two years in the Bundesliga, Wirtz had double digit goals and assists, including 10 goals and 13 assists last year in just 25 starts, ranking No. 2 in the league in assists.

The man is a creator for his teammates, and pairing him alongside the rest of the Liverpool forwards could be deadly for the rest of the league.

Rayan Cherki – Manchester City

Cherki comes over from French side Lyon, and like Joao Pedro, we got to see a little bit of him with his new club in the FIFA Club World Cup. He started just one match, but appeared in all four, scoring a goal, adding an assist, and peppering the net with four total shots, three of which were on target.

He lead the French Ligue 1 in assists last year with 11, and added eight goals of his own in 22 starts. Cherki adds some flavor to an already deep Manchester City midfield.
