Sean Winter continued his impressive form on the high-stakes scene by winning the fifth event of the 2025 PGT PLO Series II: the $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Progressive Bounty at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.
Winter collected $277,300 in total prize money, which included bounties, after outlasting a field of 84 entries. The victory also strengthened his position in the overall series leaderboard and moved him closer to the prestigious PGT Championship spot.
The event featured some of the toughest names in PLO, including Sam Soverel, Jesse Lonis, and Taylor Wilson. Winter, known for his calm table presence and sharp decision-making, displayed his trademark patience and aggression at the perfect moments.
Sean Winter: An Impressive Run at the Final Table
Winter’s first knockout of the final table came at the expense of Taylor Wilson, who exited in fourth place for $73,200. In that hand, Winter’s flush draw and wrap straight draw went up against Wilson’s three pair.
The river brought a spade, completing Winter’s flush and sending Wilson to the rail.
Shortly after, Winter faced Jesse Palma in a dramatic all-in confrontation. The board ran out J♠J♦3♥J♣8♥ when Palma shoved the river. Winter instantly called, revealing quads to secure the knockout. Palma’s A♥K♥8♦6♠ fell short, but he still collected $73,100 from the main prize pool and another $19,000 in bounties for his deep run.
The heads-up play began with Winter holding a better than 2:1 chip lead over Sam Soverel. Soverel managed to close the gap slightly before Winter regained full control. The final hand epitomized Winter’s composed aggression.
Soverel raised with J♦10♠8♥7♠, and Winter three-bet from the big blind with A♠A♦Q♦9♦.
The flop came 10♦6♦2♥, and Winter bet the pot. Soverel called. The 5♦ on the turn gave Winter the nut flush, and he bet again. Soverel called with a straight draw, but the river 9♥ only improved him to a ten-high straight.
Winter potted once more, Soverel called off his remaining chips, and Winter tabled the nuts to seal the win.
