Las Vegas is set to ignite with high-stakes poker action as MSPT Season 17 arrives at the Venetian Las Vegas. 

This live event forms part of the renowned DeepStack Extravaganza Poker Series, which attracts players from around the world. The series delivers a busy schedule of major tournaments and draws attention from live and online communities alike. 

MSPT’s first official event of the year is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting of the winter poker calendar. 

MSPT Season 17 Kickoff: Key Dates and Tournaments

Season 17 of the Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) aligns with The Venetian’s DeepStack Extravaganza NYE, running from December 24, 2025, through January 19, 2026. This schedule builds on The Venetian’s reputation for delivering consistent poker value with deep structures and large prize pools. 

The highlight early in the schedule is the $1,600 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed New Year’s Poker Open. It takes place from January 1 to 4, 2026 and marks the official launch of MSPT’s latest season. 

The tournament starts players with 40,000 in chips and features 40-minute blind levels. Day 1A begins at 11:10 a.m. local time on January 1 with late registration open until 5:55 p.m. 

Similar Day 1 flights run at the same time on January 2 and January 3. All remaining players return on Sunday, January 4 at 11 a.m. to play down to a winner. 

Leading up to the MSPT Main Event, players can qualify through multiple satellite flights. The first $200 Milestone satellite events take place starting December 30, 2025. These satellite events offer entry into the Main Event and adding depth to the tournament week. 

Other MSPT 2026 Event Highlights

In addition to the marquee New Year’s Poker Open, the early portion of the DeepStack Extravaganza NYE offers a full slate of side events and satellites. 

On December 30, several milestone and bounty events kick off the series with action that appeals to a range of bankrolls.

January 1 rings in the New Year with the Day 1A main flight at 11:10 a.m. This day also features bounty and satellite events that engage players throughout the afternoon and evening. 

On January 2, Day 1B of the New Year’s Poker Open begins at 11:10 a.m., continuing the drive toward deciding the champion. Side action continues alongside this flight. 

Meanwhile, January 3 will bring Day 1C of the main event, setting the stage for the final day of play. January 4 sees all survivors return to complete the tournament. The winner will be crowned as  champion in this first MSPT stop of 2026.
